You will own nothing and be happy.
To: Governor Dinwiddie
Well, I will own no Ford vehicles, that’s for sure. Won’t be leasing them either.

For me, it’s not just about Ford EVs, it’s about never owning or leasing ANY EV from any manufacturer, new or used.

"the business sector’s larger plan to maximize profitability by discouraging private vehicle ownership. They must make tons more on leased cars. Last car we bought the salesman and the GM were trying to talk us into a lease non-stop.

Nothing wrong with hybrids. My 2022 RAV 4 Toyota gets 43MPG and has all the power I need. Base price at 32K, not a bad deal at all.

If you were really interested in owning the vehicle you probably wouldn't have leased it in the first place. My understanding is that very few people buy the vehicle at the end of the lease anyway.
I suspect this has something to do with Ford's recognition that this technology is so new that they can't adequately price the lease buybacks for EVs anyway ... and may even have determined that an EV has a higher salvage value than a resale value after 3-5 years.

Battery fire risk after three years? This must be a liability issue. No need for recalls if the vehicles have already been returned.
I don't blame Ford for this. Our corrupt legal system has held automobile and small airplane manufacturers liable for products long out of their control.
