Don’t go to their level
Sigh.
I nearly burst out laughing when I heard that, but more at the absurdity rather than the...er...utility of it.
Just imagining a bunch of Amazon executives discussing this around a conference table (If those things even exist anymore) when someone pipes up and says “Hey...there may be an opportunity here...”
It has always been difficult for me to imagine how a smaller company would handle the issue of a key female employee being gone for three months at a time. (due to the frequency of pregnancy, this isn’t analogous to an employee who has to be out on medical leave due to a motor vehicle accident or some other medical calamity) This is something that might occur with a high frequency.
Granted, now places like my POS blue state mandate leave for fathers too, so this knife cuts in both directions. You might understand why a company might have a spoken or unspoken rule about hiring spouses or...”partners” to work in the same department, never mind the same company.
Good God. What a rat’s nest of BS.
Sure thing. Just turn in your gear and take all the time you want. Can’t guarantee your job will be here when the tears dry up though. 🤔
Yes, out of a large cannon. Perhaps Amazon sells Acme products.
“...demands that Amazon “cease operations in states that enact laws that threaten the lives and liberty of abortion seekers”
So put in notice that you are taking a permeant vacation
From a corporate CFO perspective, company-paid abortions — even including air fare — are far and away less expensive than paying women for zero-productivity maternity leave, paying increased health insurance plan costs tied to more employees having children, and bearing the ongoing risk of female employee attrition as mothers-in-employ suddenly “take the Mommy Track” and exit the company; taking their productivity and experience with them.
COF gotta find a way to keep those would-be Moms focused on the plantation.
This was a “money” quote from Tucker Carlson, as he parodied the anti-family rant of an unhinged leftist:
“CHOOSING A FAMILY OVER SERVICE TO GLOBAL CAPITALISM?!?!? THAT’S DISGUSTING!!! SHUT UP!!!”

“Pass out the crying towels.”
Hand ‘em a single square of single-ply toilet paper.
“Wail until this is used up, then get back to work!”
Amazon will give it to them.
you have 16houes a day for that when not at work
Management: "Okay, is forever long enough?"
Women believed the Womanists who told them they were going to be liberated if they aborted their children - liberated from having a family and raising children so they can instead get sent into decades of soulless work for faceless stockholders.
Did Amazon implement a vax mandate?? Were these “my body/my choice” employees upset over it??
Such utter nonsense.....I suppose now they’re Union they are getting bolder in making demands.
They’re brainwashed to believe they need to be taken care of - on demand.
Suggest this answer: “We chose to hire you to do a job. If you’re not here to do it, we will replace you with someone who will. Chose now, we have a business to run.”
Full disclosure: I am not a fan of paid maternity leave for both mother and father for three months.
The mother, for a month at least, absolutely. No question.
I was just surprised that it caught me off guard about the company paying for the abortion-of COURSE many of the usual suspects would be all in on that. I just had never even dreamed it. Disgusting.
Amazon has 1.6 MILLION employees.....
How many customers does it take to need that many employees???
Perhaps if THOSE CUSTOMERS ceased doing business with Amazon, these unhappy employees could be UNEMPLOYED & UNEMPLOYABLE.
The PARTICIPATION TROPHIES are coming home to roost.
The EMPLOYER should NEVER have to pay an employee for ‘time off to have a child”.
The EMPLOYER NEVER had a vote in the process.
