The former military officers worry that their alma mater has embraced "woke" teachings that will undermine the mission of the institution.
Several retired U.S. military officers signed a letter written by "Concerned Graduates of West Point and The Long Gray Line," which objects to mandatory vaccinations, CRT instruction, progressivism and other "woke" sentiments in the military academy.
"We wanted to challenge the leadership of the Academy and the Defense Dept on their WOKE actions, CRT, Diversity training and the other discrepancies in the Academy," retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, told the Epoch Times.
"We found it pervasive at the Naval and Air Force Academies so we knew it was directed from the highest levels of our Military Leadership. We all want the Military to get back on track to training and leading our Armed Forces to secure America and it's Citizens," he said.
The letter, titled, "Declaration of Betrayal of West Point And the Long Gray Line," requests from the academy information in a number of areas including a justification for the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination of cadets and an explanation for reaching so-called "Critical Race Theory" at West Point.
In addition to other information, the letter also demands to know why some civilian faculty members have been permitted to become involved with political activism, violating the "long-standing policy of the Academy and Army Regulations."
And it questions the institution's "exclusive reliance upon radical progressive guest speakers to address the Corps of Cadets."
"This practice results in prejudiced political activism on the part of the Staff and Faculty in violation of Army Regulation," reads the letter.

Glad to know not everyone is woke.
Excellent! What a relief, all is not lost in Wokeland yet.
The Long Gray Line, a great John Ford movie. Time to watch it again.
“Critical Theory” is just communist agitation in drag. It was designed that way, almost 100 years ago.
The CRT stuff is illegal. It’s a mystery why everyone rolls over and shows their belly. It is designed only to divide people, to destabilize society. The fact that anyone of any race or ethnicity believes we will come out the other side improved is a fairy tale.
The 1964 Civil Rights Act specifically makes discrimination based on race, creed, ethnicity, or political party illegal.
It’s all starting to crumble right before our eyes. The quicker, the better!
WE THE PEOPLE, are asserting authority and reason, they the commiecritters are ranting, raving, and foaming at the mouth.
It will all hit the fan soon! VERY SOON!
When they all get sent to some foreign land to fight for the money of politicians and bankers, they’re gonna thank West Point for those classes in CRT and the tranny commander.
Remember when West Point admitted and graduated that little sh*tstain who openly advocated communism? And he served for a couple of years after that at Fort Drum?
The flags should have been noticed back then.
The chain of command is full of weak links. We’re hanging by a thread of rust.
nice to see the push back
My friend’s granddaughter who just graduated from West Point said the students are fed up with the crap going on in “leadership”. I was glad to hear that, as a rule, they’re not buying into it
BTTT
It’s about dang time too.
Praise the Lord! these fellas’ know whats right & whats not
In the old days it would be called commie infiltration...
I don’t think it forbids discrimination of political party...
...saw this morning on another website that the U.S. Army is dropping its requirement that recruits have a high school diploma (for what that is worth these days....) or a GED diploma....great....I am sure the Chinese armed forces are shivering in their boots right now....we are screwed; we’re just not facing facts right now....
Please ask yourself why it too so long? The rot has seeped in for more than a decade.
Young men feel now there is no place for them in the military.... the white men are labeled “oppressors”....
