Scenes of Horror as Putin Hits Mall With ‘1,000 People’ Inside
The Daily Beast via Yahoo ^ | June 27th, 2022 | Shannon Vavra

Russia fired a series of rockets at a shopping center in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, on Monday, raising alarm bells that Russia is stepping up its attacks on civilian structures regardless of the loss of life.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday there were more than a thousand civilians inside the shopping mall and the casualties to come might bring even more shock and horror to Ukrainian people already confronting so much death and destruction as Russia has been waging war in Ukraine for 124 days.

“The number of victims is impossible to imagine,” Zelensky said on Telegram. “The mall is on fire, rescuers are fighting the fire.”

Thanks for the reply as it is always refreshing to hear from people who see things for what the real are instead of getting swept up in that frenzy of getting the best of Russia at any cost.

Yes, I agree YOUR argument that Ukraine deserved to be invaded is stupid. That we do agree on.
Ukraine has corrupt leaders, therefore it is A-OK for Russia to invade Ukraine, they deserve it.
USA has corrupt leaders, therefore….
Canada has corrupt leaders, therefore…
Germany has corrupt leaders, … therefore
UK has corrupt leaders….therefore…

Stop insulting and denigrating an entire country because they have corrupt leaders. There are a lot of great people there who just want to be free, not be under neo-Soviet oppression. There’s actually a Christian revival happening there. And yes, they have some terribly corrupt leaders. They want and have tried to start cleaning up, but have a long way to go, as we do.

NOT saying US should be involved, money, sending soldiers or anything. That’s a completely separate issue. Just that they dont deserve to be insulted and denigrated and lied about as you constantly do (all the “Nazis” which are about as real as the Trump White Supremacists the left is always yammering about, what a crock of bull)
That’s what ticks me off so much.

I live in a blue state. The Bluest of Blue.

On my drive to and from work each day for the last seven years, I first had to go through the BLACK LIVES MATTER signs, THERE IS NO HATE IN THIS HOME signs, then the HILLARY signs, then the DEFUND THE POLICE signs, and finally, the RESIST signs.

Many of these yards had all five of these signs. Yes, my state is full of these moonbats. Full of them.

Then, within days of February 24th, 2022, I began to see the Blue and Yellow WE STAND WITH UKRAINE signs. One might think they were printed in advance. And being pushed by the same people domestically with those yard signs listed above. (In observing this, it brings to my mind Leftists in America who fervently advocated staying out of WWII when the Ribbontrop-Molotov Non-Aggression Pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union was signed, but reversed their stance on getting into the war overnight in 1942 when Hitler launched Operation Barbarossa. The same people.)

THE VERY SAME PEOPLE.

Could be coincidence, but I don’t think it is.

Add to that, Ukraine’s involvement in our politics, the people agitating for western involvement in Ukraine (Soros, Trudeau, the entire Biden Administration and American Left), and I have no choice but to fervently oppose any involvement whatsoever in Ukraine.

The people agitating for Ukraine, both inside and outside of this country, are not friends of America. They do not support American values. They are agitating for the destruction of the Constitution and this country. I will not support those people or their “cause”.”

Great post and observations about our little blue buddies.

Its the same in the liberal areas of Oregon.

Whatever their echo chamber is saying they’re saying. Whatever their friends are doing they’re doing.

Liberals have a hive mentality.

It’s what they do, because it’s a two-fer.

“Store ordnance and other war mataeriel inside a civilian area, you win either way.

1. The Russians don’t fire, because the war material is stored inside a civilian area. WIN! War materiel moves to next location.

2. The Russians fire at the war materiel, and hit civilians as collateral damage, Propaganda WIN!”

Good points.

Also the government of Ukraine was handing out weapons to civilians as the threats ramped up.

Remember all the pictures of Ukrainian women posing with firearms.

My question at the time was “Where the hell is the Ukrainian military?”

“You should go to hell and you will for that kind of evil attitude.”

You show so many good qualities on a variety of issues important to members of Free Republic.

I just have to ask you a question.

Why are you so emotionally invested with the Ukrainian side?

I don’t get it, so rational in so many other areas, but a complete emotional wreck on the Russia Ukraine War.

I get that - I have no glee for any part of this. The sentiment you are railing against is what gives the fire of war its oxygen. What I pray for is truthful reports of the facts so that we may more clearly see deception from state actors and their stenographers (CNN, MSNBC. CBS, FOX, BBC, Guardian, etc. I also pray for a swift and decisesive victory, with enough capitulation that we will not have endemic reoccurrences of the same old dispute ripening into kinetic states. </rant>

This isn’t about Ukraine. American conservatives are not attached to them. It simply not acceptable for Russia to again destroy borders and brazenly murder by the thousands. It’s bad for business (our pocketbooks) and bad for a world where the Chicoms are taking notes.

Reagan taught us we achieve peace through strength and no people deserved to live under a totalitarian boot. He gave Kremlin KGB filth no quarter and we shouldn’t either.

Agree. There are a few toothbrush mustachioed folks who rub their hands with glee at every report of dead Ukrainians. It’s a mental illness that makes us all look like Putin worshipping crazies.

It is one of the things I despise about Leftists, is that thing where they vibrate in unison like tuning forks. As if they have no individual mind. They think collectively and lose their minds collectively, as we have seen prominently since Donald Trump was elected President, and most recently, when Roe v Wade was overturned.

I have never been to Oregon. I heard even Portland was once a very nice city, but has turned into a massive sewer of homeless, shanty cities, broken down cars and campers, and tattered tents with people laying on the ground as if dead with needles coming out of their arms.

That is what I have been told, and I am fearful just that is coming to my state soon.

Actually it is about Ukraine and not some platitude about aggression. The specific issue is the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Borders have been destroyed and thousands killed throughout recorded human history. Nothing new here with the Russian invasion.

What is bad for a Western pocket book and bank account is stupid sanctions on the free flow of resources, goods, and services. Let alone, allowing the same control freaks who shut down economic activity during virus hysteria, now the same autocratic nutjobs are doubling down with “stand with Ukraine rhetoric,” to hide their nefarious economic intentions.
They’re doing this even though our supply chains are chaotic, getting thinner, and are completely overextended. It just economic stupidity on top of economic stupidity, piling up.

The Chinese were already “feeling us out” prior to the war. Our commercial operations and higher education sector are “up to their ass” with China, regardless of the war.

Reagan only got close to a war with Russia once, after some war game activity in 1983 that may have been misinterpreted, The Gipper decided negotiations were better than a conflict.
His adversaries were much worse than the current Russian government, they were Marxist ideologues.

I actually don’t care if we burn up every munition in the USA arsenal over Ukraine. As long as US military personnel aren’t involved with the delivery of “hot munitions,” that I won’t support unless its a self defense situation.

Its a risk I’m willing to take to keep all factions of the conservative coalition together for the Midterm Elections.

“I have never been to Oregon. I heard even Portland was once a very nice city, but has turned into a massive sewer of homeless, shanty cities, broken down cars and campers, and tattered tents with people laying on the ground as if dead with needles coming out of their arms.”

I’m in a county about 30 miles south of Portland. The last time we voted for a Democrat for President was 1964.(The county I live in is actually older(1843) than the Oregon Territory(1848)

Liberal leniency and drug culture is destroying huge areas of Portland and the State. The rural areas have been denied economic opportunity and the hopelessness of drug culture has infected those areas, as well.

It started in the late 1980’s when the progressives took over the city from the business democrats who had been running it since the mid to late 1960’s. It was all down hill from there.

Portland is a toilet right now with homeless encampments moving into adjoining counties. Plus they’re advancing liberal ideology on everybody through their control of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government.

However, I won’t “cut and run” to another state because of politics.

Sometimes when you’re a man, you have to “stay & fight.”

For me, now is one of those times

Well. You and I are in the same boat. Honestly, I would love to move to another state, because even though this state is beautiful and green, with access to history, museums, etc...the politics of this state is toxic to me.

But my wife won’t move on that basis. If she doesn’t go, I don’t go. So here I stay.

I get irritated when I see people on this website (many of whom I genuinely respect) saying I should move out, and that is the only recourse.

My feeling is that a dotted line on a map is not going to stop toxic Leftism from metastasizing. Even Texas and Florida have their own homegrown toxic Leftists, and they aren’t people who all migrated from another state, as much as they wish that to be true. (NOTE: I see this sentiment all the time from a neighboring state that is supposedly more conservative than my state, and they blame the encroaching Leftism in their government on toxic Leftist migrants from my state. That undoubtedly happens, but there are plenty of toxic Leftists who were born there, grew up there, and went to school there. They didn’t migrate. I view this portrayal of evil in their state government as being all people from “one of those Blue States” as intellectually lazy, even if they can find examples of that really happening.)

Foul human nature is inherent in all of us, even natives of Red States, and must be constantly fought.

This is MY country, the USA, not theirs, because I honor the principles that the country is founded on and embodied in our Constitution. They do not honor or observe that.

I am not going to retreat behind a dotted line on a map and surrender territory to them without a fight. And I am getting involved, as much as I hate it, as much as I despise it, and as Quixotic as it may be with no prospect of change, but...I am going to do it.

I pray for all Conservatives imprisoned behind enemy lines. Such as you and yours.

You post very good material and I’m glad to be able to read your material on Free Republic.

Taking care of my wife has always worked for me as well. Which includes letting them stay put in a place they’re comfortable with.

Many red state conservatives like to blame things on the more liberal areas of the country or outsiders destroying their way of life. Much of their problems are actually internal.
They should look in the mirror and see what their political representation actually does instead of the “red rhetoric” that keeps them voting for the same.

All red states have *large corporations and an education sector. Both institutions move people around and have liberal ideas and ideology that don’t have boundaries or borders.

If you study the legislative history of the USA you’ll see its bi partisan, no matter the political parties.

* I count the media as a corporation just like any other corporation.
