The EU nations in NATO promise a lot a things they never do. This is just another one. Germany said they would increase their defense spending to 2% of GDP at war’s outset. Only took then 3 weeks to say it’s not gonna happen. Germany also promised all kinds of military aid to Ukraine at the outset. That promise ended a week later after Russia threatened to turn off the gas spigots to them. Time to exercise a little tough love for the US to stop all the heavy lifting for a war in which we have no vital national security interest and let these bumbling lazy cowards in the EU who do have a vital national security interest face the regional threat of Russia on their own. Sometimes you have to throw the baby in the pool to teach it to swim.
