Zelenskiy says Ukraine will win back lost cities, admits war is tough to bear

(Reuters) -Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Saturday said Ukraine would win back all the cities it had lost to Russia, including Sievierodonetsk, and admitted the war was becoming tough to handle emotionally.

In a late-night video address, he also said Ukraine had been hit by 45 Russian missiles and rockets over the previous 24 hours, which he described as a cynical but doomed attempt to break his people's spirits.

"Therefore all our cities - Sievierodonetsk, Donetsk, Luhansk - we'll get them all back," he said.

It was the only time in the address that he mentioned Sievierodonetsk, which finally fell to Moscow's forces earlier in the day after weeks of brutal fighting.

The only ones shelling civilian areas are the Ukrainians. They are using American made and supplied weapons against their own people. Add to that, the places where the Ukrainians are using civilian populations as human shields. The Ukrainians that survive are begging the Russians to protect them.

And, never mind, that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt and poor nations in Europe so the population in what will be part of the Russian Federation will likely benefit economically from the change.
————-
Crimea a prime example, 180,000 plus Russians moved there, their economy is the fastest growing in Europe, something like 400 percent increase in measured economy. The naysayers will say Ivan pumped millions of Rubles into the economy, but unemployment is nil, jobs, jobs, jobs and prosperity since Vlad took over….unlike the corrupted Ukie administration.

Isn’t the Ukraine broke?
———-
Understatement, their economy is on life support, manufacturing , factories wiped out, no industrial base, a basket case.

Same old Moscow lies you keep repeating. Do you not understand that Russian speakers are not usually ethnic Russians? My family and friends in the Donbas speak Russian but are patriotic Ukrainians.

Do you really think Ukraine is more corrupt than Washington or Moscow? The Ukrainian people are a great people.

The criminal invaders have committed countless atrocities in the in temporarily occupied areas and have motivated Ukrainians to fight harder. The eleven-time-zone country is still struggling against the one-time-zone country. In fact, Russia is forever humiliated by Ukraine’s military efforts.

They are willing to fight, but they need some arms!
————
So were the Japs and the Nazi’s. The corrupted little beggar Zelensky is no different. He is “ demilitarizing “ Ukraine single handedly, when the conflict is over, there will be no Ukie soldiers left in the post war environment….and Vlad says Checkmate, again.

It’s especially tough to bear, or care, if you are coked up, too.

Maybe that’s really what he means.

Ukraine is listed as THE most corrupted nation in the world, especially in the financial field. There is a good reason they were never admitted into the EU or Nato since their independence in 1991.

The age old saying: When shaking hands with a Ukrainian, check to see how many fingers he stole.

The Russians learned from Afghanistan and by watching the US failure in Afghanistan and Iraq.

We moved rapidly into the capitol of Iraq and proclaimed victory...except, the Iraqis simply melted into the woodwork like cockroaches. Same in Afghanistan. We then had a 20 years running battle with the leftovers from the invasions.

Never did subdue the Taliban now did we?

The Russians decided that it be better to advance slowly and eliminate all enemy after they take small areas. At least it looks that way.

And they built that beautiful rail and road link in the 17 km long, multi billion dollar Crimean Bridge. That revitalized all of Crimea.

um... if these are russian supporting areas... then why is Russia bombing them back into the stone age and killing everyone there in the process?

hard to believe people would support someone bombing their cities and killing their friends and family.

Well, in this speed, it will take a century!
Eventually they will run out of the artillery’s shells before they get somewhere. They have already run out of missiles, pretty much.
Remember, Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe!
Only Russia is larger.
All this Russian advances are minuscular. Ukraine has a lot of land to give up.

"if the population doesn’t support Russia, Zelensky is correct, they will eventually win it back, because its impossible to hold hostile territory forever."

Let's ask the Chetchins how that pipe dream is working out for them. Unlike America, which is led by the Pussy Princesses of the Pentagon, Russia will kill anybody who gets in their way. They will not mess around and there is plenty of land in Siberia to send troublemakers to.

And you would believe such a rating? Not only do you not understand Ukraine, but you don’t understand Washington, DC.
Those ratings have all the validity of a David Letterman top ten list.

Shortly, it will not be needed now that they have the land bridge. If Vlad decides to take Odessa, what is left of the corrupted Ukie government can start paying Vlad transit fees to import/ export goods from the Russian owned ports….10 percent to Biden?
