um... if these are russian supporting areas... then why is Russia bombing them back into the stone age and killing everyone there in the process?

Russians assumed they would support them, but they were wrong.
Remember, originally the Russians came to Ukraine in parade uniforms, ready to victory parade in three days.
They realized eventually that nobody is welcoming them, so they decided to change strategy. They want to win at all costs, otherwise uncle Vlad would be unhappy, by the way of destroying everything and killing all those they originally came in to “help”.
Thanks to the invasion, Putin actually created a united Ukrainian nation, first time in history!
The people who spoke Russian only are learning Ukrainian (Zelensky was originally one of them). The people who were bilingual (majority in Ukraine) switched to Ukrainian only.
The people who were pro-Russian decided that was the wrong way. The people who did not care are now totally hating Russians! Basically the whole country is unified against Russians, and will never give up!
So Ukraine will win eventually.
As Ukraine stands now, Russians have no chance.
They should realize that and pull out with some crafty excuse.
All they are doing is causing unnecessary grief, destruction and death.
That is hard to believe. But, that is what OUR weapons are being used for. The Ukrainian military has been attacking civilians in Donetsk.
I've seen multiple videos of Ukrainian civilians saying the Ukrainian military used them as human shields and shot at those that tried to escape. Other civilians say the Ukrainian military stole from them and burned down their homes.
