The vote to overturn Roe v. Wade was 5-4. Alito wrote the majority opinion, joined by Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett.
The vote to uphold Mississippi’s abortion restriction was 6-3. Roberts voted with the majority for that outcome, but he said in a separate opinion that he would not have overturned Roe.

Thank God for Trump and his appointees. I voted for him to balance the court with real conservatives. That vote was validated today!
“Can challenges to Obergfell be far behind?”
Well, the arguments would be very similar. Overturning Roe was mostly about states rights and the fact that the constitution says nothing about abortion.
The same goes for Obergfell.
For the vast majority of the population of the United States, no matter what the protestors say, nothing has changed. Abortion is and will remain legal in a majority of the states and even more so for a majoriity of the population.
Those are the facts and are contrary to all the histrionics and hyberpolemic angst the Left will now pour out on the nation.
More importantly what the decision should be saying to the American people is if you want “rights” in the Constitution you need to insure they are written in the Constitution and not merely manufactured from nothing by the moral opinions of judges.
From the begininning the pro-abortion advocates understood that, from the days of putting the right of women to vote in the Constitution, by getting the amendment that said that. But they wanted a short cut to avoid the lenghty public and poltiical process the amending the Constitution requires. So they switched gears to instead subvert the judicial process with judges willing to write their own opinions into the Constititution, effectively rewriting the Constitution by judicial fiat. Roe was only one of many such decisions that the Leftward bent of some of the Sumpreme Court justices have made, for at least six decades.
Well MAGA will play well, and being neo-liberal globalist weasels probably will not, and btw, the weasels are more likely to campaign on anti-abortion and social issues because they don’t want to talk about their terrible economic and open border policies.
Which brings to mind and other Supreme Court precedent that needs to go. Wickard v Filburn.
It's a shame the hysterical segment of society will refuse to recognize that fact. They'd rather just run around screaming THEY OUTLAWED ABORTION! and throw an object or two.
Now it is left to the states to decide
Abortion will continue
Yes, now the fools who always make the idiotic assertion that “Republicans don’t care about born children, they just want to force women to have them” now plan to attack pregnancy centers which do provide care and have done for many years. Not that we ever thought those goons cared about born or unborn children anyway.
I read the decision in its entirety and found no reference of who other than in the womb gets an abortion.
The Court sold out the English language and was carefully aware not to mention women or men or Trans people.
How could the Court craft killing Roe without mentioning women is a sign that they have not treaded up the madness of woke sexuality.
They were too worried about two scoops of ice cream.
I can hear the screams from Ashville from my house.
And what will happen to the far left justices after that?
Thanks.
After the sun sets tonight, many will be proud new owners of flat screen TVs and air Jordan’s.
Made possible because of Trump-named justices. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

That Roberts didn’t write a dissent.
So 6-3 (maybe 5-1/2 to 3-1/2; says a lot about Roberts... is he trying to straddle the fence?)
Not a damn thing.
I am now 66 years old..have always been a conservative, forever, even as a kid. Forty years ago I would have seen the two monumental decisions the past two day, 2nd amendment and Roe as being IMPOSSIBLE. Would never happen. So wrong I was back then. Dispite all the national craziness insprired by the left, these are amzing times.
I never thought I’d see the day. Just amazing.
