I agree with your sentiment. I find that governments are out of bounds by a fat margin, but the governmentsmake the rules, not me, and they will use force of voiolence to obtain compliance. All branches in cahoots that way, it's just a matter of line drawing to keep the people from broad open defiance.

No, it does not. And I expect SCOTUS to uphold red flag laws. They aren't much different from civil forfeiture. There may be some "as applied" cases that establish the details of what it takes to be red flagged, but those cases will simply be an instruction book on how to deprive people of rights without offending the court.

I live in eastern PA too and used to work in Easton, just next to the NJ line. If I missed my exit (forced into wrong lane bc of traffic etc), I would wind up in Jersey and instantly become a felon.
Clearly THAT needs to be challenged as blatantly Unconstitutional.

The law has not kept the people of New York safe; it is more dangerous than some third-world countries.
The law's failure should be enough to convince a liberal judge to throw the thing out without considering the constitutional merits of the argument (they never want to consider constitutional arguments anyway).

Given the number of states that “do” allow “constitutional carry”, and the lack of “shootouts in the streets” increasing, it will be harder and harder to maintain any reason for CCW licensing.

I’ll just say again, the courts uphold civil asset forfeiture. Red flag laws will probably include a judicial rubber stamp. Once at that level, it costs thousands to make your case.
The last thing you should want is to come to the attention of anybody in the government, because nothing good can possibly come of that. Well, it’s good for the people who make a living in the government, I suppose. Adds to the economy and all that.
Providing the licensing is not restrictive....which is up for interpretation.
I want to use this to push for national reciprocity where a CCW issued in one state is valid in all 50, just like a marriage license.
