Do you manage a diesel ping list?
Could you please add me to it?
I worked for one of the major diesel companies for 40 years, so I am always interested in diesel news.

This article shows why I sold my 2010 KW 900L and bought a 99 Pete 379 with a Cat motor. No DEF, no EGR, and no DPF - and exempt from ELDs.
I always keep one drum of Delvac diesel oil on hand, and order a new one when I’m down to 10 gallons.
Newer trucks hit hardest…

Maybe we can go back to coal-burning steam locomotives?

This is kind of my thinking on this. When things get scarce, and people get desperate, they get creative. The saying “necessity is the mother of invention” comes to mind.

There might be a better way to remove the whole DEF system. I hear people do remove them as they're nothing but trouble.
Some reductant pressure sensor can be bypassed 3 times by the computer before a computer shut down. This was added to newer systems in case of a reductant pressure sensor failure. Meaning the computer likely can be reset.
Found this
Looks like the reductant pressure sensor needs 5 volts on the level sensor and the reductant pressure sensor.

I guess it’s time to buy that DEF delete kit.

Yeah. I’ve disabled lawn mower safeties for a long time. All you have to do is figure out how it works, circumvent it, and the machine thinks everything is fine. Your idea sounds like a probable solution.

Like shorting the connector on the seat switch on your rider mower that causes it to shut off when you get out of your seat? I disabled that years ago.😂

Where will we be for oil in the next few centuries if we don’t start saving now by effectively using renewable resources. Oil can be made into so many useful things besides fuel it is a shame to keep wasting it if alternatives can be used.
I read recently that a hearing was held on transportation by railroad. It appears some rail systems have cut back on transporting cargo, one company apparently 50%. Therefore more cargo needs to be transported by truck. Thus the cost of diesel has risen. So why aren’t these rail lines carrying cargo? Are new laws needed? Or new incentives? Anyone have more information?
