White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Tuesday that it’s “deeply disturbing” that Texas officials found cops could have stopped the school shooter who murdered 21 people in Uvalde within 3 minutes — rather than 74.
“The actions that we have seen and the reports that we have seen — it’s deeply concerning,” Jean-Pierre said at her regular briefing.
“As you know, DOJ is doing a review. We’re going to leave it to their findings and their review before we’ll say anything more,” she added. “But it is deeply disturbing to hear the reports on what happened on the ground on that day.”
Steve McGraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, told state legislators Tuesday that the police response to the May 24 shooting was an “abject failure.”
“Three minutes after the subject entered the west building, there was a sufficient number of armed officers wearing body armor to isolate, distract and neutralize the subject,” McGraw said.
McGraw pinned the blame on Uvalde school police chief Pete Arrendondo.

Well finally something they’ve said I agree with.
Surprised they didn’t blame the NRA for it.
.
I know - maybe if all the Police Chiefs are minorities!
Oh, never mind.
.
Seeming more like this Arrendondo guy better flee to his home country. And no matter what he or even his papers say, it’s not US and sure as hell not TX.
Turn all public agencies into social engineering experiments, and demonize the police in particular.
Why is anyone surprised by this?
How many children actually died after that first three minutes? How many would have been saved?
What is the WH stance on abortion?
So, STFU.
BTW, still no baby formula.
It’s such a great situation for the left.
All they have to do is nothing. The police do a sit-down strike, the agencies that are supposed to enforce existing “gun laws” don’t do so, psychos and illegals get all the guns they want... and the case for doing away with the 2nd Amendment gets more and more emotional.
Hispanics have been in south Texas for centuries. At any rate he may be better off in Syria now that the story has blown wide open.
He’s a Democrat supporter, so I can’t see it going too far at the Federal level.
As if they really care about the lives of children.
Deep State is getting the twofer. Kids being shot so they can grab guns since the cops are so inept. Next is federal police force
As if it isn’t bad enough already. Just wait until the White House gets involved.
Ms Kimber and I would have dropped the kid in 2 min.
Shooters are cowards when confronted by superior skill.
I think the first shots fired were at the teacher.
So, all the kids could have been saved.
Arrendondo needs to pay for this.
He should be ousted from civilized society.
And the rest of the stupid donut cops? They were “only following orders.”
And the barricade? An unlocked doorknob.
The doorknob has a higher I.Q. than the whole Uvalde police force.
That's an excellent question. I haven't seen a timeline. To know, you'd have to know that Kid A was killed at hh:mm:ss, Kid B was killed at hh2:mm2:ss2, etc., and I doubt we'll ever see that.
Does that mean that the Uvalde police “acted stoopidly “?
It will be their building blocks for nationalizing the police: no more local accountability.
Would-be totalitarian statists love anarchy. People clamor for law and order and become willing to sacrifice all their freedoms to the hegemon or chieftain who promises safety and security.
I have concerns about the so called school police departments. They seem to exist to keep the actual police out of the schools so that the administrators can have their own uniformed “go fetch its.” I suspect they are mostly retirees making some extra bucks. Lefty schools have had a problem with resource officers supplied by local PD’s saying they intimidate the kids. When in reality the school kids around here love their resource officers.
I just don’t like the concept of schools having their own private armies.
If the White House is saying it, then I think a re-think is in order.
Officer Tatum criticized the rush to judgement.
