I ALWAYS feel SORRY for the poor cop who pulls me over!
He has to stand partly in the road risking his LIFE for pennies to give me a ticket because I was being an idiot!
I say sincerely how sorry I am as polite as possible the same way I would be to any over worked unpaid person dealing with me and other BS.
I once got a flat tire on I-5 leaving Seattle during Friday nite rush hour...I was in the left (fast) lane...flat on my right front. (Traffic flying by). A WA State Patrol officer stopped, and changed my tire...I was sooo thankful.

In Georgias I know State Troopers pull their vehicle where its profile obstructs anyone from pulling off a side-swipe hit....always angled in places where it is possible.
Feel sorry for him? For pennies, he's putting you at risk as well.
I asked the officer who pulled me over if he felt safe or wanted me to pull into a weedy parking lot. He said, “Yes please.” and decided to just warn me. The milk of human kindness has its rewards.
