Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) said on Monday that he is hopeful the Senate will pass some form of legislation to curb gun violence, adding that not doing so would be a “moment of moral failure.”
Sens. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) have led bipartisan negotiations among Senate lawmakers to come up with a framework that could get enough votes to pass the chamber after the shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

How about we... oh, I don’t know... enforce the laws already on the books?
Oh, that’s right, because we MUST “do something.” It’s a moral imperative that we “do something.”
Because decent people should be morally willing to take one
for the team?
The logic of these people is astoundingly shallow.
Stop and frisk the Sons Of Bammy.
the failure in America is that of
many of our politicians
to respect, honor, and protect the Constitution
.. especially its limitations on federal powers and
its recognition of our civil liberties as individual citizens
Congress “failing” to pass yet more unconstitutional deprivations of our civil liberties will be a small but nevertheless helpful step forward
No - that’s be a national success for civil liberties and rights!
The Democrat Party has been locked in PERMANENT moral failure since the 1800s when they were selling children away from their parents, lynching people, burning crosses in ku klux klan costumes, and defending slavery--of all things!
Well said!
Warlock: Federal “red flag” (re: NO DUE PROCESS) laws will lead to more violence. Count on it. You ain’t seen violence until you start coming to take the guns of everyone who voted for Trump or expressed conservative opinions online. The first house hit is the balloon going up.
Based on what? Why would he (or any sane person for that matter) believe that "some form of" law would do any better than the thousands of gun control laws already on the books. Across the nation, at the national, state, and local levels we have literally thousands of "gun control" laws on the books. Yet the violence continues. Clearly laws do not prevent violence.
It is pure folly, or political grandstanding, to believe that criminals prepared to break dozens of existing laws regarding violence, firearms, theft, murder, etc. would be in any way deterred by the thought of breaking one more law. To any liberal lurkers out there - it is stupid, and if you think gun control works you are stupid too. That is not being mean or hateful, that is a statement of fact.
No, moral failure is when worthless politicians, such as yourself, fail to address the real issues.
At the very foundation, talk about the number of urban murderers who were raised in households where there was a father.
Very, very few, I’d wager.
Passing gun legislation will lead to a moment of government failure.
But they have a lot of experience at that.
What would a demonrat know about morals?
Schumer stooge shows his true beliefs.
Fortunately for her the people that EVERYONE needs to be worried about are already moral failures. And they dont gaf what any politician OR police officer thinks.
Lets keep blaming the gun for the mindset and actions done by the person wielding the gun. And, while we are at it, lets do the same for automobiles because of the guy that crashed his car in to a building that was holding a meeting about Trump.
I hope Georgians get rid of this turd ASAP.
