Former President Trump derided Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for the House minority leader’s “very, very foolish decision” not to participate in the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
“Unfortunately, a bad decision was made. This Committee - it was a bad decision not to have representation on this Committee,” Trump told far-right-wing podcast host Wayne Allyn Root. “That was a very, very foolish decision.”

He can endorse him for his seat and still criticize a specific decision.
I can go either way on this one.
McCarthy did not want to participate in a kangaroo court, but if he did he could show counter-evidence. So meh...
Trump could also be doing this to make sure he doesn’t run for speaker. I would absolutely love it if Trump ran for speaker.
He would take over Pelosi’s seat, and be next in line when they simultaneously impeach biden and harris.

Why participate in a Soviet style show trial? Trump must not have had that pointed out to him.

If he'd done as Trump suggested, he now be accused of kowtowing to Nancy Pelosi's demands.
He did the right thing.

ok, untrue .... how?
i am positive that in your years of schooling, you were instructed that when you take a position, you have information to defend that position.
so, again i ask, how?

McCarthy did not want to participate in a kangaroo court, but if he did he could show counter-evidence. Why does anyone believe “counter-evidence” would have been permitted in a rigged committee trial?

He did the right thing.
No, he did not.
By refusing to participate, he allowed the J-6 Committee to be unaccountable to the truth by having a GOP Congress person who was actually GOP and who would defend the truth.

How is this trashing? When did we come to accept the notion that in order to support someone you have to agree with them 100% of the time?

Pelosi rejected Jim Jordan.

To be fair, McCarthy tried to put a couple of pretty good members on the committee. Jordan, for one. Pelosi vetoed them and put Cheney and Kinzinger on instead.

the question is- would kevin have even stood yup for the truth had he been on the panel? or would he be indistinguishable from the other rinos on it?

I don’t care what McCarthy decided. He’s an asshole who can’t be trusted.I totally agree. Trump heartily endorsed McCarthy's "strong leadership".
McCarthy wins re-election, he will be Speaker, regardless of what Trump wants at that point.
Endorsing McCarthy for re-election ensures he is Speaker if he wins.

Not foolish if it’s part of the plan to deny Trump’s re-election.
