Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer who smashed women's records this year, will be banned from competing against women in international events after the world swimming's governing body announced that it will bar transgender athletes who went through male puberty.
FINA, the international federation sports federation for swimming, announced on Sunday that it is changing its policies so that transgender women can only compete in women's races if they have completed their transition by the age of 12.
They will then have to prove to the federation that they have continuously suppressed their testosterone levels since that time.

I read the article, and it never mentioned puberty blockers. Boys who want to be women take testosterone blockers. If they start it by age 12, maybe that stops all masculine bone and muscle growth.
I read your page. Why did your son, who had a Business degree, get a physics degree?
The number of Detransitioners, AKA people who identified as
transgender, but changed their minds, has grown exponentially on Reddit. Lots of people realizing what they’ve been through medically and sharing it.
Thanks.
Aside:
Do you know what’s happened to CNBC? Rather than showing markets it’s running ‘Undercover Boss’...
Juneteenth, the markets are closed.
Thanks - I just googled it - and felt like a total idiot. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
My pleasure. I didn't think of it right away this morning, and checked into premarket activity. Things didn't look, uh, very active, so I had to look it up to make sure. Tuesday will probably be a great day for some of the hotter stocks, since they didn't move much Friday ahead of the long weekend. Of course, that's give or take Brainless Joe "Huggies" Biden and his coconspirators intercoursing up things some more.
Jamie Dimon felt Europe could have a rougher ride than the US - so I’m thinking about pulling back ... You’re right about Biden - an unknown - bull in the China shop. No one knows what he’ll effing break next.
My son has long had an interest in nuclear physics. When he returned from Iraq/Kuwait, he met a young lady at a Mexican food shop. Her dad was a real estate broker. On a lark, the two of them took a few classes and obtained a real estate sales license. Both worked for her dad. In time, my son was running the office. That turned his interest to getting the BA in Business Admin. Her earned and quickly passed his real estate broker's license exam. Girlfriend's dad decided it was too expensive to keep him on, so he founded his own business, passed the exams to do the financial side of the business too. His corporation was doing well. As 2008 progressed, it all crumbled.
Small aside: my son had to be fluent in Spanish to work at the Mexican food business. He parlayed that into a 95% Spanish speaking customer base at the real estate business and often accompanied he customers/clients into court to provide explanations of complex legal contract issues to his customers.
My son was living in a condo in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista. A news story about a cartel execution occurring in Eastlake appeared (Feb 8th, 2008). It happened 100 ft from my son's front door. The person killed was coming to visit. My wife and I drove to San Diego on Feb 14th, 2008 and retrieved him. I set him up in my 2nd house in Pocatello. Inside of 3 weeks, he had an Idaho real estate broker's license. He has his own business and has worked for others in the area. He does 3 to 10 broker price opinions daily (residential/commercial).
Second small aside: The guy killed by the cartel thugs was a case of mistaken identity. They killed the wrong person and the passenger they kidnapped was beaten and dumped on the road a couple miles away. The passenger survived.
My son applied to ISU and started down a physics path aimed toward an eventual PhD in nuclear physics. He was doing well, but ran short of money. Weighing options, he had sufficient credits accrued to get a BA in Physics. That would permit pursuit of a teaching credential and a more stable income. It came down to money again. He passed his CDL exams and drove a flat bed for most of a year. The income driving the truck was half what he earns doing BPOs and was perpetually on the road, sleeping in the truck. He returned to Pocatello and continues doing BPOs. The interest in physics remains, but it's still a matter of money to finish the path.
Long story. It's a tough economy. Adapt and survive. 40 years ago, I was content being a UNIX kernel developer and writing support code for PacBell. Approaching 66 in August, I'm moving systems to the cloud as micro-services wrapped in Docker, deployed by kubernetes, coordinated by helm. I'm building a new data lake to support AI/ML exploitation of sensor networks. I will add a CySA+ cert soon to keep my 8570 cert level suitable for my employer. Adapt :-)
There's an old saying, when the US gets a cold, the world gets pneumonia. We're already seeing that. It works backwards too -- when the world gets pneumonia, the US gets a mere cold. Often the same old saw works for the EU/UK/Norway/Switzerland/Liechtenstein. Turkey's been in economic turmoil for a while already, thanks to the global Plannedemic.
