All guns are dangerous. That’s why I own them.

And a block away someone should offer $150.00 cash for ‘em.

I have a Red Ryder carbine action 200 shot range model air rifle and I don’t want to shoot my eye out. Can I get a $100 gift card for it?

Back in the day, I knew of a couple of FFLs that would buy Saturday Night Specials that came into their shops just to get them off the streets, then when one of these buyback events was announced in Chicago they would send a couple of their people to turn them in. As they saw it, they were not only getting legitimately dangerous junk out of circulation, but with every $100 gift card they received, they were making $80 profit on a $20 outlay.

Australia at least had the decency to pay market rates (or better) for their mandated turn-ins in 1996....

A hilarious story that came out of that whole mess was that they also would pay for items related to firearms, including magazines and other “feeding devices”. The price given for a ten-round SKS stripper clip was $2 AUD...some guy showed up at a turn-in center with two 55-gallon oil drums full of them. Yes, they had to count them all out and pay for each one.
