The Log Cabin Republicans, an organization of gay conservative activists, have been denied a booth at the Texas GOP convention, which runs June 16-18.
The decision was apparently a close 4-3 vote of the Texas State Republican Executive Committee.

It’s not the first time this has happened. In my opinion they should have let them have a booth.
You do not know any conservative gays. Conservatism and homosexuality are at extreme opposite ends from each other. You might as well claim to know a conservative who supports abortion.
Being a conservative is living much more than a political lifestyle. A true conservative is a social conservative living and voting for godly American values.

Monkeypox Republicans
Conservatives (and certainly libertarians) generally don’t care what you do in your private life.
The contradiction is that a specific group for “gay Republicans” is really just an extension of the neo-marxist group identity politics. And as their name implies should we accept there is an identity and policies, for homosexuals, that politics and government can promote? This is antithetical to conservative and small government values.
Can’t they just be “Republicans” and leave their sexual-preferences aside?
Having said that though, there are no doubt lots of other identity groups, like Blacks, Armenians, steelworkers, etc... who are warmly welcomed into the GOP.
And finally, politics is about the very practical art of winning elections by having the most votes. Why turn people away?
Anyway, I don’t claim to have the answer to this.

If I were there and were to vote on this, I think I would vote “no”.
Not because I am anti-homosexuality - None of us are without sin!
But should we form political groups promoting our particular sexual sins, or others that are unhealthy and/or self-destructive, demanding acceptance of these by the political public???
We could make up clever names for these political groups, demanding platforms at our conventions, really fracturing and diluting our common goals - gluttony, envy, smoking, wife-beating, drug use...
I say again, we all sin. Should we build our lives and identities around such behaviors, and encourage others to do likewise?
