ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A dozen children and two adults were served floor sealant instead of milk at a day care summer program at an Alaska elementary school after containers were apparently mixed up, the school district superintendent said Wednesday.
Several students complained of burning sensations in their mouth and throats, and at least one child was treated at a hospital after the Tuesday morning incident in Juneau, Superintendent Bridget Weiss said.

Not sure I believe such a mix-up. Does nobody read labels?
I forgot to post that I found this article on CITIZEN FREE PRESS.
Bet that stops them asking to leave class to go to the bathroom!
Well that’ll fix ‘em.
Nobody can read. Period.
No if you don es-pik ingles, gringo!
They keep their floor sealant in the cooler, next to the milk we are supposed to believe.
Wondered when Pfizer would go into the milk business. Much easier to get those kids to take their meds.

In this case, it was two identical storage containers side by side in the hospital kitchen with damaged labels, one held sugar, the other salt. In this case, four newborn babies died and dozens more were sickened. The source of the poison was not figured out until a ward sugar bowl was refilled from the canister holding sugar used in the bottle prep area to make up baby formula.
Note date of the article; 60 years ago. Note also the early 60s style of describing the nurse thought responsible for the mix-up.
It is hard to inculcate the level of personal responsibility necessary to ensure safety in these situations because the same action/quality check/verification has been repeated so many times without incident. The actions become automatic and the mind goes to sleep.
Really hard to believe it’s not delivered because sealant like that has an odor that is definitely not milk and for them to have poured it that would have to be deliberate
Is it just me or are we getting dumber every day?
“Nobody can read. Period.”
I just spend a week with my nephews, ages 11 and 14. The couldn’t spell “bean” or “peas”. They’re smart in so many ways, but basic spelling ...? Horrible!
They’re home schooled and allegedly take the standardized NY testing a couple times a year. And they pass! If true, NY education is no longer education, at least not like it was when I was in school.
You are assuming employees there are literate.
I wouldn’t.
It states in the article that the sealant didn’t have an odor. Does milk powder not have an odor, at least when it’s mixed?
Perhaps it’s time for the person who makes the meals and beverages to actually partake of them first.
Or Nurses that don’t speak English - could easily be someone’s IV in a hospital. Oceola county Florida is recruiting TEACHERS from South America to teach in the schools!!
Read? You mean like, English?
That should shut ‘em up for a while.
DISGUSTING IDIOTS!! That’s NO MIX-UP! They HATE THOSE KIDS!
In response, Biden will sign an executive order returning Alaska back to Russia. It's the only way!
