The Assault on the Supreme Court
Wall Street Journal Opnion Page Editorial Board ^ | June 13, 2022 | The Editorial Board - WSJ Opinion Page

Democrats are upset that many Republican voters don’t consider the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot to have been an assault on democracy, and maybe one reason is that too many Democrats appear to have a double standard about which democratic institutions they want to protect.

Jan. 6 was an assault on the transfer of presidential power and Congress’s duty to certify the Electoral College votes under the Constitution. But what about the growing threat to the third branch of democratic government, the Supreme Court, and especially the seeming nonchalance toward last week’s arrest of an armed man outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh ?

Judging by the Democratic and media reaction, you’d think this was routine news. Publications such as the New York Times buried the story, while President Biden still hadn’t commented as of Sunday afternoon. Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemed barely to care as she said the House will eventually get around to considering a Senate bill to add security for the families of the Justices. Does anyone think this would have been the reaction if Justice Sonia Sotomayor had been targeted?

[snip]

There’s reason to worry that this won’t be the last such attempt. Protesters continue to picket outside the homes of several Justices, despite federal and local laws against such behavior. Ruth Sent Us, the left-wing group that published the home addresses of the Justices, advised followers last week that Justice Amy Coney Barrett goes to church daily and her children attend a People of Praise school.

This is all the more worrisome because the Court is arguably more vulnerable to acts of violence than the other branches. There are only nine Justices, and a single vote can change the result in a case. [snip]

Assault? HUH? Do we mean citizens expressing their opinions? Seems like the libgressive definition is pretty, uh, liberal. Amazing what’s covered under THEIR first amendment rights huh?

If they can't pack the court, then pick off a few
conservative Justices and let Brandon
appoint their replacements.

The assault on Democracy happened in the early morning hours of November 4th, 2020.

Everything else is just a natural reaction to that crime.

President Biden still hadn’t commented as of Sunday afternoon.

Nor Presidents Obama, Dubya, Klinton, Carter, or former Justices Kennedy or O'Connor.

You wouldn't happen to be referring to the 2020 stolen election, would you?

But literally every Democrat/RINO has been consistently screaming for the past two years that the election was "NOT Stolen!#%$@!!"

I'm still trying to figure out which side I believe ...

Who woke up the rinos at The Journal? They’re worried about their federalist court. Well, boo hoo. Go back to sleep. This is the government that you wanted. Trump is gone.

“Jan. 6 was an assault on the transfer of presidential power and Congress’s duty to certify the Electoral College votes under the Constitution.”

As John Wayne would have said: “Not hardly.”

No it wasn't. No guns were seized, no fires started, no proceedings were halted, only delayed. The only people killed on that day were Trump supporters.

They lost me when they referred to the January 6 peaceful protest by US citizens exercising their God given right to assembly as a riot, parroting the evil Democrat propaganda.

Complete and utter bull crap! No one did any such thing.

Can't read past that communist propaganda.

the Dems know that if a right wing justice, or two, would be killed, diapers would get to replace them with radicals. Its likely worth the price to them.

My findings say the Soros address is 168 Cantitoe Street, Katonah, NY - not 136 Cantitoe Street.

It would not surprise me if it is eventually shown that John ‘Pirate’ Roberts was the source of the leak. He wants to control how Barret and Kavanaugh vote. Roberts is an owned man, a speck of detritus soiling the bench.

The open borders pimps at the WSJ are worried about the court.

They ushered in this new voting demographic in the last 40 years that gave us Clinton, Obama & Biden.
