Biden has essentially dumped this Z-man who failed to understand his actions would lead to war. Russia is going to stop when the Ukraine stops... and Russia has in her grasp exactly what she went to war over. If this spills over further into the Ukraine, it ain’t got nothing to do with Hitler. Russia has never said they wanted anything more than what they just about have.

I hate this new breed on FR who are schooled in the public schools and function on emotion.

I’ll go one better. Zhirinovsky predicted the invasion down to the exact date, months before it happened.

Moreover, even Russia’s favorite husband and wife troll farm referred to an old clip of Zhirinovsky.

This 5 minute clip of Russian television, subtitled, should completely dispel the myths around why Russia went into Donbas in the first place, never mind in February 2022.
https://twitter.com/visegrad24/status/1535803994831994880?t=KFlR-9QGWz6fYSc0JBCZOQ&s=19

Putin, Zhirinovsky and Dugin hail from the same kind of position that Hitler started from when he castigated the German leadership for surrendering in 1918 and condemned the punishments meted out to Germany afterward.

They have a fanatical belief that everything east of Germany is Russia’s to take or destroy as it sees fit.

If NATO didn’t exist, Putin’s made it clear he’d dream of the Russian empire expanding even further... From Vladivostok, Alaska and Sakhalin in the east, to Lisbon on the west.

He’s been waxing lyrical on these lines for thirty years with an absolute consistency and clarity.

On the other hand you have Lavrov, whose job it us to present stories about why this war is happening, that change every time he is asked about it.

Although the Ukrainian government, independent observers, multiple NGOs and even the DPR (separatists) all agreed that the Donbas conflict had de-escalated to ONE FIFTIETH of the level that it had reached in 2014-15, Putin felt compelled to send the tanks in to stop it.

FFS. How can people STILL not see how ludicrous that is? That’s like having Stalin say he needed to liberate East Germany from the nazis... in 1946.

"To me this sounds like globalist BS to feed the narrative of Russians performing below expectations.. The Ukes blew up their own bridge yesterday so these folks in the industrial area may plan to die there. Severo may hold out for much longer. L-chansk is on a hill with high value artillery positions . might take months to take that if a seige is necessary..I’m not buying this."

************************************************

This narrative might be based on the expectation that the Ukes might finally do something that makes sense militarily and retreat way to the west to a more defensible position. So far their strategy has been idiotic and they have been getting annihilated.

“second string” troops into this,

Except the Orcs did not - the used their Airborne and Naval Infantry - the best trained troops they have, but artillery does not discriminate between the well-trained, contract professional and the conscript. Their best were mostly wiped out and the survivors are being integrated into mix and match Battle Groups (not BTGs): the 76AD for one, now at Popasna.

Any remaining first line troops in the RGF and Navy are needed elsewhere to guard borders and provinces. And there are damned few of them left.

BS. the Orcs are stalled out. They don’t have enough troops to hold the ground they’ve taken with out leaving exploitable holes.

I salute you for your service. I worked with heroes during my days at a government agency back in the Cold War and later. I hate bullies like Putin. I’m sure there are grifters and crooks on both sides, but the Ukrainian people have suffered enough at the hands of the Soviets/Russians.

Including men to fight?

That is the issue. Ukraine has punched WAY above their weight class, but quantity has a quality all it’s own. In the game of “Who bleeds out first!” Russia has a lot more to go.

We shall see. As long as the Ukes want to fight, we should support them.

You may not have noticed, but we have major issues at home.

Also, depleting our non rebuildable stock of anti tank munitions is madness.

Then perhaps, perhaps, WE STOP PLAYING GAMES AND WORK ON THE STUFF AT HOME! There have always been conflicts in that area.

We are broke. Not a time to play adventure games

IM not an isolationist.

And if you think that not paying attention to Ukraine means we will then pay attention to other things then I have Russian warship turned submarine to sell you.

We Have No Money

Our military just spent 20 plus years in Afghanistan, and lost.

I am not for Russia, or an isolationist. But there are problems bigger than Ukraine much closer to home.

Real Politik. Doesn’t mean the good guys win, but means you accept what you can’t afford to fight.

>>We Have No Money

about 30 trillion ago...whats a few billion more? We are never going to get out of the debt.

>>Our military just spent 20 plus years in Afghanistan, and lost.

I dont want our military involved.

>>>I am not for Russia, or an isolationist. But there are problems bigger than Ukraine much closer to home.

To think not paying attention to Ukraine will mean we will focus on our problems here is not going to happen. Besides, we can walk and chew gum.

Where are the members of the Worship George Soros church? All of a sudden their preachers have got lockjaw. Before this forum was lousy with them. And were they vocal. Sounded like a bunch of lovesick alley cats caterwauling. Ditto the Worship Lying Joe Biden congregation.
