California Governor Gavin Newsom tried to reframe the political narrative on crime Saturday, claiming that America has a “red state murder problem,” rather than a problem of homicide in Democrat-controlled cities across the nation.
Newsom was speaking with Elex Michaelson, host of The Issue Is podcast, on the occasion of the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles. He claimed the media had inflated the broader significance of the recall of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

Actually, I belive “the truth” has become whatever people want it to be. Politicians have always been liars, cheats, thieves, and whores, and willing to say whatever it takes to get elected and stay in office. Men can be women. Men can have babies. There are more than two genders. Blah, blah, blah.
Newsom is a particularly disgusting POS but he is saying exactly what liberals / his voting base want to believe. Forget about the fact that the deadliest places in the US are all urban areas controlled by liberals, because admitting their rules and regulations have created the problem would shatter their delicate little minds. Better to blame somebody else and continue living in their fantasy world of liberal bliss.

LOL - There is a red-state murder problem for blue states, not enough murder in red states. We need to have strict gun control in red states so that there are no good guys with guns to protect from the bad guys with guns that blue states are releasing from prison.

This is a big IF....but if Trump doesn’t run, assuming DeSantis gets the Republican nomination, it would setup a very interesting and contrasting matchup between DeSantis versus Newsom.
Actually a very devious and smart reframing of the issue. We should watch Newsom - he could be a strong contender in 2024.
No we have a Blue City program in Red States
California has among its other problems, a lying governor problem.
Seattle may now be a schiffhole, but its murder rate is still below the national average.
The demographics provide a clue as to why that is.
Analyze the murder rate in any blue city. Compare it with any nearby red county/counties of similar population. Wanna bet who is safer?

Murder stats are dominated by the cities, which are mostly blue. Country people use their weapons to shoot critters.
Blue cities in red states, as well as blue cities in blue states, are where the real murder problems are.
Newsome is the next Walter Mondale - weak, ineffective and looks like a loser.
That's not an accurate way to depict the severity and or frequency of crimes.
That's why the use per capita. If you have a town of say 1,000 people with 10 murders as opposed to a town with 50,000 with 10 murders, your chances of being murdered in the smaller town of 1000, is significantly greater.
