Last week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed $35 million the state legislature had approved in the latest state budget to help build a spring training facility for the Tampa Bay Rays. “I don’t support giving taxpayer dollars to professional sports stadiums, period,” DeSantis said.

The member of the Bush family of grifters known as “W” made his first big money off fleecing the taxpayers over a stadium. That entire family has been ripping off taxpayers for generations.

Governor DeSantis is doing right for Floridians.

my gosh. this guy is the head and shoulders the best we’ve got on the national scene. may God defend and protect him.
No matter what the politics, the taxpayers should not be subsidizing pro sports. There are more effective and equitable ways to stimulate business, such as ending NIMBY and unneeded environmental barriers to development.

When Southwest Air had $69 round trip from Boston, it was cheaper to see a Red Sox game in Tampa Bay than in Fenway. Dollar for salary dollar, the Rays are best team in baseball, ever.
