A Grand Rapids police officer, who was seen on video shooting Patrick Lyoya after a car stop, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Christopher Schurr, who shot the unarmed Lyoya in the back of the head during a struggle, was charged by prosecutors in Kent County, Michigan, on Thursday.
“The death was not justified or excused, for example, by self-defense,” prosecutor Chris Becker said.

Cops should be attending traffic stops in multiples.
It is usually the single cop situations that seem most prone to these types of shootings, justified or not.
In many of these kinds of situatins, the cop would be better just writing a ticket and walking away.
Lyoya's parents sold beer and clothing for money; his mother was once raped by rebels on her way home.
The Lyoya family moved to Malawi in 2003 and Lyoya spent half of his life living in a bamboo house at a refugee camp. In 2014 the family received asylum in the United States.
Lyoya often assisted fellow refugees who were establishing themselves in the Grand Rapids area. While in the United States Lyoya had a difficult time establishing himself; he did not yet speak the English language very well, he switched homes frequently, and he changed blue-collar jobs multiple times.
He had also been arrested for drunk driving several times and was ordered to be assessed for substance use disorder, with Lyoya telling his friends that he was trying to improve his life.
He had two children and had been living in Grand Rapids for about five years prior to the incident.
He was just turning his life around.
Or better yet, FIDO.

If I were a cop there, I would be making no more traffic stops for anything. If the State no longer has your back for perps resisting arrest, then there is no longer any need to put yourself in a situation where they might resist...
So the dead perp was struggling with the cop???
You have to remember that there isn’t an actual legitimate state government in Michigan, since they stole both the 2018 and 2020 “elections” there.
He was just trying to get to his extra-credit homework for his community college class that night.
Google for the body cam video, the Grand Rapids PD immediately released it to justify the shooting, it clearly shows the police officer repeatedly telling the suspect to let go of the taser he stole from the officer before getting shot.
Happens to me all the time.
Why are the authorities so nit-picky about those little details? 
Would need a lot more info but ... another story says Lyoya took off running after being stopped for something minor; said Lyoya was fighting with the cop; said Lyoya was trying to get the cop's taser.
The dead guy ignored him.

All of the above is true.
Also, when he first made the stop, he yelled at the dead guy to get back in the car twice.
The dead guy just ignored him, and played the dummy, almost drugged-out looking.
Prayers for the honorable Christopher Schurr. No surprise that barbarians are unable to work and learn the language in America, since we have been dealing with barbarians for one thousand years.

The wokesters running Michigan now are going to lynch Schurr like Derek Chauvin got lynched in Wokesota.
