Tiger Woods rejected almost $1bn to join rebel Saudi golf league, reveals Greg Norman

Greg Norman has revealed that Tiger Woods has turned down a figure just short of $1 billion to join his Saudi-backed golf tour.

One of the most divisive episodes in the history of the sport took a dramatic turn on Monday when it was confirmed that Phil Mickleson had signed up to be the poster boy of Norman's revolution. The six-time major champion will now play in the tour's inaugural event at The Centurion Club at St Albans this week.

It will be his first event since announcing an indefinite break from the sport in January, following comments where he described the state of Saudi Arabia as 'scary motherf*****s'. That was despite initially accusing the PGA Tour of 'obnoxious greed'.

As a result, he missed the US Masters and last month's US PGA, despite being defending champion. And now, the American accepting a deal to join the rebel circuit represents a seismic capture for Norman.

However, the Australian has admitted he failed in a bid to attract the most marketable golfer in the history of the sport. The career of Woods, 46, appeared in jeopardy following his high-speed car crash in February, but he remarkably returned to play at Augusta in April.

And his global appeal was still evident, with his comeback signified by a mass frenzy of interest and support. He further defied doubters by entering the second major of the year at Southern Hills, but was in clear physical difficulty and withdrew after three rounds.

Tiger has all the money he’ll ever need, but loves his kids more than he loves $$.

I believe that appears true, as it should be. When Tiger had 8 or 10 majors the media asked Nicklaus if he thought Tiger would break his record. Nicklaus responded as the intelligent thoughtful person he is, he said once Tiger has children, his focus will change making it more difficult and he will lose some of his single focused drive that he had in his first 8,10 major wins.

It was a joke, dragonbluster ;) ... bc those two things were big parts of his downfall.

Not nearly as much fun if you have to explain ;)

To hell with the Godless Saudis.

I think that their defining feature is a corrupt version of God followed with much gusto and not much thought. To find people who appear to be Godless, I suggest looking east of the Hudson, North of the Potomac, south of Lake Michigan, or on the coast between Baja California and the B.C. Interior.

They have problems, and while they certainly have to do with religion, it isn’t because they are Godless. Having more money than they know what to do with is also a problem, though as is observed in Fiddler on the Roof “Smite me Now.”

Perhaps Tiger is hoping the lure of LIV money attracts the core of current PGA stars, leaving a newly surmountable majors total within his grasp.

I should have said “to hell with the lucifarian saudis”.

You are either with God or against Him.

You do realize what the entire objective here is right? The PGA placed their lefty politics on full display by BANNING TRUMP COURSES asap and trump retaliated with LIV as a backer. I fully endorse LIV and Tiger is free to do what he wants

I would take the offer.

Then I would move all the slave labor Nike factories to the US.

You never hear about the Nike jock cabal (L James, etc) complain about slavery over there. Not that Tiger did, but he hasn’t really questioned it.

You are saying Trump is involved with this Arabian golf group?

He has a tin ear.

Or he is not running

As terrible as that is, the Waffle House waitress was probably more fun and appreciated the effort more than the pain in the ass model. Remember no matter how good looking they are someone somewhere is sick of them

Trump owes the PGA nothing. They snubbed him after 1/6 and went with the Leftist narrative of "insurrection" when it was actually a civil protest over a stolen election.

He also had this to say:

Trump, on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, said the PGA Tour and PGA of America “have been taking advantage of the players for many years” and that “The ‘PGA’ has a maximum Tax Exempt Status, makes a fortune, and pays executives salaries higher than virtually any of the (sic) very talented players can make in a good year. LIV can change that!”

Tiger is loyal to the pga and dressed down the Mick for not showing in Tulsa.

The guy couldn’t do day 4 in Tulsa. If you watched him closely you could see the agony and one of his legs looks like a prosthesis.
