Oakland Declares Racism a ‘Public Health Crisis’
Breitbart ^ | 06/09/2022 | Joel B Pollack

The City of Oakland, California, declared racism to be a “public health crisis” in a unanimous vote of the city council on Tuesday, allocating $350,000 to hire a consultant and data analyst in the Department of Race and Equity.

The ordinance was introduced by the city attorney, Barbara Parker, City Administrator Ed Reiskin, and Darlene Flynn, the director of the department of race and equity. It was also cosponsored by Council Members Sheng Thao, Loren Taylor and Treva Reid — all of whom are running for mayor.

“The link between racism and disparate health outcomes is well-established and indisputable, and the City of Oakland wishes to join the growing number of jurisdictions across the country that have formally declared racism a public health crisis,” Parker, Flynn and Reiskin wrote in a staff report.

The way I would describe the scene there is that it was like one of those post apocalypse movies.

My wife's mother lived in Oakland. We had to use Oakland as our base when we visited the Bay Area. We took the BART to San Fran, but always made sure to get back to her mother's in Oakland before dark. It was like vampires and other creatures of the dark come out after dark.

Living on the other side of the country I’m fairly ignorant as to what areas of California are better or worse than others......I dunno how people can live in a place like that.......but it does explain all the Cali license plates I see in my state now.

Wow, I would not have expected this. Nearly equal demographics across the board, and somehow things are the same. Keep blaming whitey though.

White males need not apply.

I have come to realize that segregation solves racism after all

Well for one thing, it takes lot of scratch...

the director of the department of race and equity.

All cities should have a department of race and equity!

“It takes lot of scratch”

Yep.

Worked for the DoD here in Fla.

Back in the early 90s we had a round of base closures and one was in Alameda.
A lot of those people came to fla in order to retain employment with the federal government.

I saw a few pics of houses they sold before they left and none of ‘em were impressive to say the least.
Even back then they went for so much money when the Cali people got here a lot of them were able to afford VERY nice homes....one couple was actually able to afford a home in a gated golf and country club......I sure as hell couldn’t afford that.

SMH.

Does that include black racism, which is far more prevalent?

And there you have it, the real reason for COVID. To create the precedent of declaring an emergency crisis for anything they want.

BART stopped reporting crimes on their system because so many “teens” were committing crimes and THATS RACIST.

Yep...I sold a home for a small profit in the seventies, in VA; and was transferred to San Diego where I could barely afford rent, let alone another house. I think the most talked about and cared about topic outside of family matters in CA is real estate.

I’m sick of hearing that all things are racist, I feel like I’m hating that word more than the racists themselves.... :D

“Oakland Declares Racism a ‘Public Health Crisis’”

did they mandate masks to stave off this “public health crisis” yet?
