Lawmakers in the European Parliament plenary voted Wednesday to mandate that all new car and van sales should be zero emissions from 2035 as part of efforts to clean up road transport.
Lawmakers backed the final report on revised vehicle CO2 emission standards legislation with 339 in favor, 249 against and with 24 abstentions.
The legislation is a key part of the Fit for 55 package and mandates that carmakers should reduce their fleetwide emission averages by 100 percent from 2035, with interim steps in 2025 and 2030.

For those who wonder why the car companies keep pushing electric cars when people don’t want them, is because the alternative is having your business be made illegal by the government.

All part of the plan to remove private ownership of cars. There is no way to build and sell enough electric vehicles to replace ICE vehicles - not enough batteries and not enough electricity.
They will first block people from having gasoline and diesel vehicles, then they will block EV ownership. All part of globalist plans to control people.
13 years out? Yeah classic “next guy’s problem” law that will get postponed.

By 2035, compared to Europe, there will be triple number of ICE cars, most of them older models, running around in Asia (from Turkey-India-China-Japan-SE Asian countries). The smog will travel all over the world.

Electric cars are government driven cars.
Mainstream environmentalism is Marxist in nature, as in let’s bring down the efficient ICE in order to lift up the electrical vehicles which otherwise wouldn’t be feasible. Just like regular Marxism would bring down the well-off to lift up the “proletariat.”
I see a big demand for carts and ponies in our future.
In the next 13 years, the EU plans to replace all the cars, Semis, Tractors, Generators, etc., good luck because they will need it.
In order to remove all the combustion engine cars off the road, they will have to start years before 2035,
And the virtu-signaling, neo-Marxist move to ban ICEs in Europe will do absolutely nothing about real pollution problems, such as the “brown cloud” that covers parts of Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
This is happening in California. Per a law to go into effect January 1, 2023, many ICE trucks made by GM, Ford and others will be illegal to operate for transport to and from docks in California. They will have to switch to alternative vehicles or lose business to other companies using alternative vehicles.
