Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said American consumers will be at the mercy of oil companies this summer, as crude oil is expected to reach $160 a barrel, according to an analysis released Monday by Goldman Sachs.
Speaking to the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday, Yellen took heat from both Republicans and Democrats for inflation that’s near 40-year highs, with gasoline prices up almost 50 percent over the last year.
In May, a gallon of gas cost more than $4.50, according to a national average compiled by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. It’s now at $4.86 a gallon, up 25 cents in just one week.

Just wait until these high fuel prices start causing actual food shortages by this fall. That’s when all heck breaks loose.
Come this winter a lot of people are going to freeze to death. And any savings accounts that do exist are going to be decimated. The government will force people to spend there life savings before they can even get Heap. And Heap payments for those who do get them will have to be tippled(or more) from last year before they will even be useful.

But once domestic producers could sell internationally, and weren’t limited to sell to US only, we kneecapped ourselves.

Rationing is in our future. It may be called something else - like “strong equity” - but rationing and wage and price controls are in our future if Biden hangs on long enough.

You are correct. That was Biden’s plan for day one. But remember when President Trump was in the white House, your belly was full. You had money in your wallet. You were prospering. Then the people said, “Hell with this.” “We will not have this man ruling us.” “We want Lying Joe Biden ruling us.” Well, you got him. Enjoy him. The best is yet to come. I bought gas in Newton, Alabama today and it was $ 4.69 9/10. Two weeks ago it was $ 4.29 9/10. It won’t be long before it is ten dollars a gallon. But that was what the Biden voters wanted. And according to the media there were 81 million of them. So there should be 81 million smiling faces today.
Why we allow a bunch of out of touch, elitist, geriatrics to destroy the country is beyond me.
In 1970, I could buy a six pack of beer for $1. And 5 gallons of gasoline for $1.
Today the six pack of beer costs $10 and you can only get 2 gallons of gas for that price.
