Actor Matthew McConaughey was spotted on Capitol Hill on Monday and Tuesday, after endorsing gun control laws in an op-ed in the Austin American-Stateman.

The Failure to Launch star was seen by reporters meeting with Senate Democrats Dick Durbin (D-IL), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Republicans Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Susan Collins (R-ME).

I’m in favor of a conversation. I’m not a “special kind of stupid” for wanting a discussion.

FWIW, the biggest problem with what happened in Uvalde is that those who were responsible for protecting the children did EVERYTHING wrong — leaving a door open, not allowing teachers to defend themselves, not allowing the police to go in and put a stop to the killing, and so on.

In this instance, no additional legislation would have stopped the massacre.

“Can we please start with why current gun laws on the books are not being enforced?”

Absolutely agree. One of the biggest problems these days is lawlessness, the refusal by those in authority to hold people accountable to the law.

I emphatically agree with everything you wrote.

“Disarming good people doesn’t make bad people harmless.”

Agreed.

Yes, you are. How many extended warranties have you purchased? Intelligent people don't even pick up the phone because they know it is a scam to begin with.

In fact "having a conversation" with a telemarketer/scam artist is far less dangerous and stupid than "having a conversation" about gun control. These people have been at this for decades. Their stated and affirmed goal is total confiscation. They steadfastly refuse to enforce any kind of law intended to stop mass shootings because they are far too useful in achieving their ultimate goal. The last body hadn't even hit the floor before they were jumping with glee at another chance to advance their goal.

It is way past time to catch a clue and if you refuse to you are one of them.

Don’t be surprised to see the RATs run this jerk for POTUS. Biden isn’t running again and they are not going to give Cankles another round.

It’s obvious that you haven’t read what McConaughey wrote. Any further conversation is pointless.

Actually I have, and the best I can say is that he is like you and has been sleeping under a rock for the last forty or so years.

There is no conversation to be had with these people. You really need to wise up. No conversation you can have will accomplish one iota of progress against mass shootings.

All you will accomplish is the harassment and persecution of the law abiding.

Scary thought.
I’d guess a US Senator’s spot of VP, but as dumb-as-a-stump as he is, I’d think VP or some US Cabinet position.
Of course, you may be right, as I don’t see anyone on their horizon. Yet JFK, Clintoon and Obummer etc came out of nowhere, too.

The reason why I can’t boycott Matthew McConaughey is that he’s never good enough for me to watch. That’s the way I seem to be with all of these yahoos who pretend to want my money and publicly step out of the woke closet. I can’t boycott them because I never bought their crap to begin with. Wokeness only comes from morally bankrupt idiots.

Same here, and ditto that.
I can’t remember anything I’ve ever seen him in, except some Lincoln SUV TV spots. He’s a nobody/ nothing, IMO.
