The Florida Department of Health urged the state’s board of medicine to establish standards of care in accordance with guidance strongly advising against child sex treatments in a Thursday letter.
Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo pointed to a lack of evidence on the safety and efficacy of the procedures and urged the Florida Board of Medicine to consider the department’s guidance that advised against child sex changes, according to the letter. The move is the latest effort from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration to restrict sex-change treatments, particularly for children.
“The Department thinks that the evidence speaks for itself,” Florida Department of Health press secretary Jeremy Redfern told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “The letter from the Surgeon General reiterates his stance on protecting children from politics-based medicine.”
“The scientific evidence supporting these complex medical interventions is extraordinarily weak,” the letter read. “The current standards set by numerous professional organizations appear to follow a preferred political ideology instead of the highest level of generally accepted medical science. Florida must do more to protect children from politics-based medicine. Otherwise, children and adolescents in our state will continue to face a substantial risk of long-term harm.”

Good. At the very least, CHILDREN should not be allowed to decide to have life altering elective surgery. Make them wait until they’re 18 at the very least....if not 21 since the Democrats think they should wait until 21 to buy a gun.
Parents that insist their under age children be allowed to under go a sex change procedure are guilty of child abuse.
Who would have thought yesterday that protecting children from crazed adults would require extraordinary courage?

Tes, in addition he would not want to be Trump’s VP as he is his own man and would not subscribe to Trump’s type of loyalty. DeSantis has his own ideas.
Cutting off a persons penis or adding a penis does not alter the sex of that person.
Unless or until medical science can alter your genetic make up you will always be either XY or XX with very few exceptions.

I agree, DeSandis is his own man with his own style and ideas and is, IMHO, more professional, experienced and competent than Trump.

The fact that we have to introduce bills to outlaw the practice just goes to show how far we have fallen morally as a nation. 40,years ago, noone In Their right mind would have accepted the idea that kids should be able to decide that they want to mutilate their bodies.
Desantis seems to be on of the only Republicans with a y kind of course left. The Republicans should be all unified on this issue and speaking out loudly and introducing bans In Their states.
Sex change drugs/surgery for children is child abuse and should be banned nation wide.
And they should be charged with endangering the welfare of their child and with child abuse. Those parents should be making sure that their kids jnderstand that such drastic changes should never be the choice of a child because they are too young to jnderstand the consequences
