Fox: Is GOP “Out of Step” on Gun Control? Scalise: Dems Want to Take Your Guns

For all of its reputation as the “conservative” voice among the major news channels, Fox News has a funny way of showing it. Fox News Sunday host John Roberts asked his guest, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), if his Republican Party is “out of step” with America in opposing gun control.

Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, opened the interview by suggesting that Democrats want to “take away guns” in response to recent mass shootings, such as the one in Uvalde, Texas, that caused the deaths of 19 fourth-graders and two teachers.

“When you have a shooting,” Scalise told Roberts, “instead of sitting down and asking ‘OK, what is really causing this, why do we see these happening more and more in the last few years,’ it immediately becomes a debate about taking away guns.”

Instead of restricting the rights of innocent American gun-owners, “We need to be focused more on stopping things before they happen,” Scalise insisted. “This isn’t something that we are having a conversation about right now, and it should be. It immediately becomes about Democrats wanting to take away guns.”

Roberts later presented Scalise with polling data that indicated large majorities of Americans support more restrictions on civilian gun rights

“We need to be focused more on stopping things before they happen,”

While helpful, there is another more useful approach.

“We need to be focused more on stopping things as they happen,”

An armed society is a polite society.

John Roberts should go back to Canada, & be a bigger fool on CTV or CBC.

The problem is not only Fox. Today Breitbart featured articles on Toomey, Cheney, Schiff, Lurie, Mark Jones, Kathy Griffin, California gun laws, Florida sex and Pete Buttigieg. I’m sure something else was occuring on the other side of the aisle, but you wouldn’t know it from Breitbart reporting.

There is a strong tendency for any media source that is conservative, to be infiltrated by the left.

There isn’t any doubt what the Dems plan.

Sept 11, 2019 “Beto” O’Rourke said: (Texas Tribune report)—

“Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” the former El Paso congressman said. “We’re not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans anymore.”
The blunt answer drew big cheers at Texas Southern University, which hosted the event.

Stop the democrats from inculcating hate, distrust, envy and anti-Americanism as political strategies and things will get better in a generation or so.

Anyone who thinks “guns” are the problem is the problem.

There can be no fix to any problem if they focus on the wrong thing; like an inanimate object that’s nothing more than a tool for a specific job. In this case self-defense. If someone chooses to use one differently then that’s on the person not the tool.

So simple even a Dem, RINO, or gun grabber nut should be able to understand it.

HELLO!.
That's because their reputation as "conservative" is as phony as the 2020 election.

You know the election. The one that no part of it, or any investigations, audits etc. is ever mentioned on Fox. Yea, that one.

But they know it doesn't matter because, like abused wives, the slack jawed, knuckle dragging Fox Neanderthals will stay in denial, fawning over Tucker, Hannity, Levin, The Five (stooges), Lindsey Graham.

Waiting anxiously to hear the next shit about Hunter until they've been beaten to their knees totally defeated by a bunch of leftist Australians pretending to be American patriots...

Fox News: Counting the days until the next ballot harvest.

Sadly, I’m a DirecTV subscriber. A few months ago (as many of you know), they shitcanned OAN from their channel lineup over some alleged legal issues. I miss the hell out of that network, and Pearson Sharp’s reporting in particular. :(

That history lesson pretty much lays out why the 2nd Amendment exists. Government can never resist the temptation to abuse power, and that’s why the Framers sought to limit it to minimal things. We have been stupid to allow the growth of government to the extent we see today. The answer is less government, not more.

Fox was slightly to the “right” of the rest of the MSM but they weren’t at all conservative.🙄
