Republican attorney George Conway on Sunday dished out some legal advice for the House select committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, as the panel gears up for a series of public hearings starting this week.

The Democrat-led panel will seek to prove that last year's insurrection was just one part of a wider conspiracy to undermine American elections that had been led by then-President Donald Trump.

Conway, a prominent Washington, DC-area lawyer, has been a fervent critic of Trump's since the GOP commander-in-chief was in the White House - despite his wife Kellyanne Conway being one of Trump's closest confidantes.
