I often wonder if that wasn’t there plan. Blackmail or force the world to give them what they want. It appears to be going that way.
Is one of the disputes that Ukraine does not recognize Russia’s annexation of Crimea, nor does the U.S.
I suspect there won’t be much infrastructure left in Kiev if Zelensky tries to be cute, as the hard-liners in Moscow will take over and make him pay a price.

A competent State Department would have specified exactly where the missiles could and couldn’t be used. No one there was bright enough to consider Ukraine’s stance on Crimea?
De jure Crimea is part of Ukraine. Firing on invaders there is not firing on Russia.
Crimea belongs to Ukraine, so they could attack there.

Zelensky declared that all Ukraine lands should be returned to Ukraine, including Crimea and Donbas. Return to the borders of 2010.
From what I understand, it is no Zelensky, himself, but the overwhelming will of the people, which he cannot ignore.
After all that sufferings, people of Ukraine want to WIN!, not settle for some kind of negotiated peace to give Russia 20% of the territory.
Personally, I would like to see all Russian occupied military bases in Crimea, especially the naval station in Sevastopol absolutely leveled to the ground and turned to rubble.
Russia should learn that if they destroy cities, then they should expect some of their assets in areas they stole from Ukraine will also be leveled to the ground.
Zelensky wants WORLD WAR. And he wants to drag the United States into it, period.

The first attack clearly attributable to Ukraine from a US weapon, and on Russian territory, will result in a European conflagration.
