He’s heartbroken.
Good for him. It is absolutely unacceptable they spent somewheres between 40 and 70 minutes, depending on who you ask, before they actually did anything. They claimed it was a “hostage situation” with a teacher in the building not far from the classroom where he was barricaded reported hearing gunshots from him for at least a half hour.
Despite what is written on the side of a cop car, they do not consider it their job to protect people. But if they don’t want to do that, they shouldn’t stand in the way of people who do.

Now the cops show up…ready to confront?
How brave of them.
The vet was righteous. All the cops deserved, though, were unrelenting orders to get on their knees and beg forgiveness.

I don’t always believe Vietnam vet status from patches on a jacket. But he’s the right age, in a small town, with family there. Unless debunked I’ll decide that he likely is.
That means there was a time in that guy’s life he could never dream his granddaughter would be at the mercy of an armed gunman, and the armed good guys would refuse to storm the position and kill him to save his little girl.
Somebody has some s’plainin’ to do before we go blaming the NRA and the American people for this friggin’ atrocity. As a self-appointed fact checker, I have found that the NRA and the American people had nothing to do with the Crap Show at Uvalde. A S.W.A.T. team that needs a backup? What the....?! The impromptu team put together by the border patrol guys didn’t need to “stand down” and wait for a “backup”. They got a key to the classroom from the janitor, opened the door and dusted that piece of meat with two eyes.

The real job of police in this police state is to get people into the system so they, the jailers, the lawyers can make money. I can remember when a town had 1 or 2 police, no ARs or personnel combat vehicles. WTF?
