Former House Speaker Paul Ryan said on Wednesday that more House Republicans would've voted to impeach former President Donald Trump after the January 6 Capitol riot if they'd had the "guts" to do so.
Ryan made the remarks at a small reception at a hotel in Florence, South Carolina while campaigning for Republican Rep. Tom Rice, one of ten House Republicans that voted to impeach Trump.

Except that I don’t think Paul Ryan knows any Republican. I know a lot of Republicans, but even without a poll I can guarantee they would not speak to Paul Ryan.

The midterm elections were undermined by Ryan not persuading fellow congressman to campaign for reelection. We should therefore, never have lost the House to Pelosi.
Trump tirelessly campaigned for Senators, and we were able to keep the Senate.
Ryan also blocked funding for the wall. During the negotiations between the WH and congress on the budget, as I recall that gave Schumer everything he wanted in exchange for military spending requests from Trump, Ryan could easily have thrown in the 5 to 6 billion needed to complete the wall.
The deceit, disloyalty and outright behind the scene back stabbing against Trump was widespread under Ryan.

That's how Ryan became the Republican leader, and it's how McCarthy became the leader.
Nobody is willing to challenge them, because they all fear retaliation if they lose. That means that nobody is a real coalition builder in the GOP. If they were, they could withstand losing because the bloc would still have their backs.
It's a shame that Republicans simply don't know how to unify like the Democrats do.
