Welcome to the USA Mr. Navalny.

The name of the country here is different but the "extremist" charge and the inciting hatred of authorities reads like something Merrick Garland the Attorney General of this country and countless other prosecutors in the USA would use against people who dissent from government policy.

Nothing makes me appreciate the US more than when people in other countries are arrested by their government for something they said, whether it is Russia or the UK.

Let me guess - he’s charged with “insurrection?” Or how about “spreading disinformation?”

Or maybe he lied to the Federal Security Service, saying it was Tuesday, when it was really wednesday?

Or perhaps he can be harassed constantly about his decades-old tax payments?

Because that’s how ummm, Moscow attacks its internal opponents.

General George Patton got pilloried and punished by Eisenhower in 1945 when he went out and compared the Democrats and Republicans to the Nazis in Germany.

Patton was under pressure to kick anyone who joined “the party” out of the functions of government like public works and so on.

At the same time they wanted Patton to get things functioning again in the conquered Germany as a military governor.

I’m beginning to think that General Patton stumbled onto something virtually prophetic there back in 1945.

The religious vision of all of us breaking the Higher Power’s rules of being “sinners” seems to loom large in all this as well.

You mean like how Dementia Joe arrested and jailed January 6 protesters without trial up to today?

That is pretty dreadful.
But in Russian and Iran, they shoot them.
The thing that mostly appalls me about the 01/06 protestors is that they are held without bail and convicted in sham trials.

A little perspective Russia is not better.

But the notion that the USA, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand are freer nations must be questioned as well.

What messages have the media and government driven home regarding dissent on COVID policy alone in all those nations not to mention other matters January 6th in the US and the list goes on?

Tainted testimony by informants in front of Washington DC juries a hanging kangaroo court if ever there was one.
