Wolf: Money could be spent to address gun violence but ‘we cannot ignore the elephant in the room’

Gov. Tom Wolf is calling on policymakers to “be open to the things that work” to address gun violence “but we cannot ignore the elephant in the room and that is guns.”

During an interview on Pittsburgh-based KDKA radio on Tuesday morning, Wolf reacted to last week’s mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and a weekend shooting that killed an 18-month-old Pittsburgh boy saying a combination of measures are what he sees as needed.

The elephant in the room has mental illness. Guns in the hands of normal people are just fine, it’s that one percent or whatever that have criminal intent or mental illness that is the issue. Leave the other 99% alone, focus on the problem but maybe that’s a little politically incorrect?

Then Senator Joe Biden wrote, sponsored and pushed for the passage of the “gun free” school zones legislation. It was passed on the promise that it would reduce school shootings. By that stated measure, it has been an ABYSMAL FAILURE.

School shootings have not only risen, they have increased almost 300%!

Time to repeal and put armed security or armed teachers into the schools.

We've had dozens of laws — if not hundreds — to keep guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have access to them.

As far as I can see, those laws are simply not enforced.

Can I help it if I see a common goal here? By not enforcing these laws, guns get into the hands of crazy, evil people. This keeps the flow of mass-casualty incidents going, and every one of them is used by the left for fundraising and anti-Constitutional activism and politicking.

I don't think that's an accident. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but the one supports the other, whether conspiracy or not.
