In Stunning Shift, WaPo Admits Catastrophic-Conditions, Collapsing-Morale Of Ukraine Front-Line Forces

With Russia’s war in Ukraine now in its fourth month, mainstream media consumers have been treated to seemingly endless headlines and analysis of Russia’s extensive military losses. At the same time Ukrainian forces have tended to be lionized and their battlefield prowess romanticized, with essentially zero public information so far being given which details up-to-date Ukrainian force casualties, set-backs, and equipment losses.

But for the first time The Washington Post is out with a surprisingly dire and negative assessment of how US-backed and equipped Ukrainian forces are actually fairing. Gone is the rosy idealizing lens through which each and every encounter with the Russians is typically portrayed. WaPo correspondent and author of the new report Sudarsan Raghavan underscores of the true situation that “Ukrainian leaders project an image of military invulnerability against Russia. But commanders offer a more realistic portrait of the war, where outgunned volunteers describe being abandoned by their military brass and facing certain death at the front.”

As many careful and less idealistic observers suspected the whole time, a steady stream of both wartime propaganda and one-sided social media feeds where it seems the only tanks being blown up are Russian ones has served to present a very skewed portrayal of the battlefield to the Western public. While it’s perhaps easier to get sucked into this pro-Ukraine bias based on the innumerable so-called open source intelligence self-anointed ‘experts’ on Twitter, this is less so if one wades into Telegram, where a flood of uncensored videos from both sides gives a truer picture, as the fresh report seems to also suggest…

“In Stunning Shift, WaPo Admits...”

Bwahahahaha! Not this shit again...

“The Washington Post is out with a surprisingly dire and negative assessment of how US-backed and equipped Ukrainian forces are actually fairing.”

The Washington Post having ZERO expertise or knowledge in the ability to assess ANYTHING, is now being relied upon for an official assessment of the AFU, militia and volunteer defenders of all of Ukraine after having an interview with a couple of disgruntled soldiers from a volunteer regiment in the Donbas?? WOW! And its a dire/negative assessment!

All of Ukraine forces should take heed from WaPo and pack it in! Too funny! LOL! Pure garbage.

So, how do we choose who to believe? The reports that indicate that Ukraine is putting up a good fight, or the reports where Russia seems to be winning?

Or both statements are true. The Ukrainians have put up a good fight, but they can't solve two problems: the Russians' superior artillery and Ukraine's persistent fuel shortages.

Lots of misinformation about Russia’s personnel losses. The post yesterday from the CIA analyst said that the numbers you keep seeing even from the US and UK are numbers given by Ukraine. No other information is known. And Ukraine lies about everything!

This only paints a partial picture; but at least it is a real picture:

Here is a transcript of a video of a Russian soldier in the battle that offers some insight. It is from three weeks ago.

https://twitter.com/AZmilitary1/status/1519984803122188290/photo/4

1. We have after Kiev went to a little town left from Kharkov,
Izyum where heavy fighting is happening. Mostly those battles
are artillery battles since four to five days ago.
2. Their divisions are trying to engage (break through line),
there is zero success to it.
3. We are doing our jobs well, not even whole battalion is
activated, few people are sent to clean up. Everything else
is artillery, artillery works 24/7.
4. This is the beginning of the second phase, we had no idea
how to will develop, however its going with following
rhythm. Artillery works 24/7, example
5. when artillery started working intensely they were responding
with same force, however precision (rockets) and air force
have brought them to the point where they are unable to
respond 1:25 [ they fire one on our 25 ]
6. Because all their checkpoints from which they utilize
artillery are destroyed. There have been enormous reduction
of their tech (military hardware) and people.
7. There are losses, we have been two days ago on that side of
the front helping guys. 16 people were killed from Haubica
152mm, a few projectiles hit around in zone in which they
were sitting.
8. That counts as greatest loss in one day that happened. There
are losses, considering intensity of battle losses are
minimal. Every loss is big, this is war people are throwing
bombs and projectile so it should come as no surprise.
9.
10. I am reading Ukrainine newspaper, according to them they
have completely wiped us there. There are 40 pieces of
destroyed military hardware, unfortunately we ( our
battalion) are forbidden from taking phones or record
anything.
11. I personally would like to record because 40 pieces of
military hardware is but 1% of that which has arrived there.
There is so much military hardware there that has entered in
last 20 days i cannot explain with words.
2
12. Artillery, tanks, since coming to front they are
immediately breaking the line and paving way for infantry,
mostly that is mechanized infantry.
13. Artillery is working on territory of Donbas, i have talked
today with our fighters Mariupol is taken.

14. Azovstol is surrounded and they are ordered to maintain
formation and do nothing but wait. Question is about food and
water and how long they will last. They are simply waiting
for them to come out which is best thing to do.
15. Battalion Sparta has returned to Doljnjeck that is battalion
from Motorola, and they are going to different front.
16. Division of their battalions which were on Kiev front which
we have engaged are attempting to reach Donbas where huge
battle will be waged. They simply cannot reach that front
from Kiev since our air force is beating them.
17. It proved to be excellent move to engage such a huge
division and then cut it off from territory (Donbas?) where
biggest battle will be fought, which will ultimately end the
conflict of this war.
18. Our air force and precision rockets are still destroying
ammo storage, big groups of fighters.
19. Air force and precision rockets are utilized in deeper
territory of Ukraine specifically when there are huge groups
of people of whom are mostly foreign soldiers of fortune or
volunteers who came to wage war with
20. desire to help Ukraine. There are a lot of people who
dislike Russians, i have read some comments on facebook and
apparently there are even in Serbia some, luckily they are
minority thank God.
21. People are unable to grasp since they are limited, this is
not about Russia only and this is not local conflict. What
about last 8 years when Ukranians were killing people of
Donbas what was happening then.
22. As for that huge battle, there are around 60,000 Ukranian
military personel in that area, and we have order to not
rush forward.
23. Artillery, artillery, artillery day and night.
24. When you are shelled constantly, people are losing will and
morale to wage war and are surrendering which is good for our
side, as well as Ukrainins since there will be less
casualties.
25. On our front there are very few who are captured since they
know that very very long prison sentence is awaiting them so
they are fighting to the last on Donbas territory. Those
battles are short lived.
26. Those instructors from west that have come to train them
have taught them very little, one of few things they managed
to teach them is hate towards Russia and everything Russian.
27. They did teach them how to utilize artillery and gave them
huge amount.
28. Yesterday i have read in news that a lot of military
hardware is coming, however I have privilege to see some
reports that are not exactly to be shared with public.
29. Every location of where that military hardware will arrive
is known, and there are orders not to destroy it. We have
taken a lot of their military hardware: javelins, anti air
stingers, weapons.
30. Mostly nothing our boys use, since its not very effective
especially compared to Turi [not sure about which weapon he
is referring to] from Soviet Union which was designed to
destroy tanks.
31. It occurred on our front that tank is hit with javelin four
five times and it still functions, it also happened that
one hit destroys tank. Reality is, their effectiveness is
mostly boasted through stories.
32. There are a lot of no-man aircrafts which are mostly for
reconnaissance and help their artillery with coordination,
honestly one should pay tribute to guys who use them.
33. They are going in one kilometer towards us, between two
fires. Air craft flying, here only warplanes are allowed to
fly, everything else is forbidden.
34. Our plans are as I said to utilize artillery to deal maximum
damage to military hardware, fighters so we have least
losses possible.
35. I am certain 100%, according to orders I am getting, Putin
is in no rush, one should consider human lives.
36. In truth in first days there have been huge losses, around
500 people died first few days from the error of some
officers who are currently sitting in prison.

The consequential strategic realities of this horrible, unnecessary bloody war have already been determined 1) It is obvious that the once feared Russian conventional military juggernaut, held in awe by NATO, was a paper tiger. It would have been no match for NATO forces. 2) Modern technology has made big armored land fighting vehicles and almost all naval surface combatants vulnerable and perhaps obsolete. All future wars must be fought far differently than previously imagined. 3) Comrade Xi, witnessing the political, economic and military costs to the Russians against a determined opponent, must take serious pause in any plan to invade Taiwan. It is not a certainty that his combat inexperienced military armed with locally produced , untested equipment ships and planes would be successful attacking across 90 miles of open ocean. 4) It is now clear that the Russians do not have the conventional military power to defend their underpopulated Siberian treasure house and their rich Fear Eastern Pacific regions against a determined Chinese incursion.

No, but you can copy the text, and translate it using Google.

Only takes a couple of keystrokes.

Actually this is not quite so. Russian ministry of defense releases the numbers and even the names; for example the names of two Russian generals who were killed were released.

It is just that the media likes to use Ukrainian-supplied numbers which represent Ukrainian wishes more than facts.

There are two things I am aware of (but, I am not a techie.)

The first one is that on google at least when you are on a foreign language page it usually offers you an opportunity to switch to whatever you choose. If that doesn’t come up (and sometimes it doesn’t) there is a small icon with two little different colored squares located next to the star that you use to bookmark. Those little stars will bring up the option to select language translation.

The other possibility but only available if whoever posted the item entered it is if you right hand click your mouse an option may come up offering “google lens” If you click on that it will allow you to have the page translated at the side and you can read it there.

Maybe other more technically advanced freepers than me (which means everybody...:-) can suggest other ways.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has already pulled out Eastern forces that have been fighting for 88 days and re-inforced the area with fresh reserves, resulting now with Ukraine retaking several villages and holding back Russian assaults over the past 48 hours.

This masturbation by the Putinists should have ended 24 hours ago but they’re a little slow on the latest developments and thus got an extra day to jerk off to Ukranians being murdered.

Yes. Just as the Ethiopians put up a good fight against Mussolini's Italian army, still losing in the end, but totally humiliating the Italians.

The post yesterday from the CIA analyst said that the numbers you keep seeing even from the US and UK are numbers given by Ukraine.

First, as is usual with you gang of circle jerkers, this is a complete fabrication. UK, US and Ukraine numbers are all different. How is that possible if they're just copying Ukraine? Secondly, Russian losses MUST be huge since now they're even bringing in antique tanks from WW2, and their recent offensive has... already petered out again after a very brief blaze of glory!

Now Ukraine is already threatening the supply lines on Kherson and the videos of dead, blown up Russkies are streaming in again as usual.

You should have expected this after the embarrassing failure of the Russian army to take Kyiv and later Kharkiv, which we are still told by your pedophile and fossil "analysts" were just feints! Feints that cost the lives of more than 20,000 Russian soldiers!

Secondly:

Are you clowns talking about Larry Johnson? I admit he is a step up over the pedophile Scott Ritter, but not much of one.

What is it with you Putinists deciding to get your military facts from slobs and freaks? Why not just look at a map and all the photos of dead Russkies and blown up armor? Why are you so averse to NORMAL information streams instead of these people who appear to be streaming their "analysis" in the back of a ChiCom sweat shop?
