Putin: Ukrainian Sea Mines, Western Sanctions to Blame for Lack of Food Shipments, Not Russia

MOSCOW (AP) – Russian President Vladimir Putin says that Ukraine should remove sea mines from areas near its ports to allow safe shipping.

Putin made the statement in Friday’s call with Austria’s Chancellor Karl Nehammer, according to the Kremlin readout of the conversation. It said that Putin and Nehammer “had a detailed exchange of views on issues regarding food security” with Putin rejecting Western claims that Russia’s actions have exacerbated a global food crisis.

Global Food Crisis: Russia Tells West it will End Grain Blockade Once Sanctions are Liftedhttps://t.co/ukIJEp4jcR

The Kremlin noted that “Putin emphasized that attempts to blame Russia for difficulties regarding shipments of agricultural products to global markets are unfounded.” It added that the Russian leader “gave a detailed explanation of the real roots behind those problems that emerged, in particular, because of the U.S. and the EU sanctions against Russia.”

The U.S. and other Western allies have rejected the Russian demand for the sanctions to be lifted and accused Moscow of blocking grain supplies from Ukraine to global markets — accusations the Kremlin has denied.

They are certainly an act of war against whoever they are directed at - e.g. nonbelligerent trading partners - if any are European aligned non-belligerents at this point.

One way or another George Biden, it’s a foreign policy failure. Another one in a list.

Weaponizing the USD was a disaster, even Obama refused to do it. What did senile Joe think? Everything he touches turns to ****. He had no idea Vlad would bring the west to their knees by reverse sanctions? Or did he know?

Worldwide credit markets destruction, USD dethroned, no more petro dollar, rising Ruble, China/ Russia/ India / SA alliance, fuel , energy, commodities, metal shortages…..and Vlad has everything he needs, gas, diesel, food, grain, commodities, metals, …..and Vlad says Checkmate, again.

When Vlad finishes securing the Donbass Independence, the west will be permanently on the road into decline….economically and militarily. What good was NATO? Just another massive waste, WW3 is a financial war, it has started.

Keep in mind the EU and West is bankrupt, the US debt over 110 percent GDP, Russia debt, 17 percent GDP….and Russia has everything the EU and west needs….

Thats consumption, not production.
Anyway what you should be looking at is exports.

Russia is demanding concessions for allowing grain shipments and at the same time claims they’re not stopping these.

Obviously this doesn’t make sense to any normal person, because if they’re not stopping it then what do they demand concessions for?

So I guess the invasion of Ukraine has nothing to do with it. Perfect example of Russian "logic", where the rest of the world is perpetually to blame for Russia's aggression.

However the war itself turns out, Russia itself should be ostracized economically and otherwise by the West. They can still sell whatever they wish to the authoritarian East, but at least we won't be normalizing invasions motivated by imperialism.

Ukrainians mining the areas around the ports has really hurt the flow of food to the world:
