The deaths of Black people at the hands of police this year ignited an important conversation about police reform in this country. A number of proposals have been introduced to address various facets of policing at the federal, state, and local levels. This week, Democratic lawmakers in Congress added to that list with a bill to get police out of schools.
Senators Chris Murphy (CT) and Elizabeth Warren (MA), along with Representatives Ayanna Pressley (MA) and Ilhan Omar (MN), introduced the Counseling Not Criminalization in Schools Act that would prohibit federal money to be used to fund police in schools. The lawmakers said this would prevent money from being diverted from important student service providers, like counselors and social workers.

“Counselors and social workers are disproportionately black women, an important constituency of the Democrat Party.”
“Disproportionately” is putting it mildly.
They didn't seem to do any good in the school the other day.
This article should also be used in ads.
There were no police in the school the other day.
There were no police in the school the other day.
An argument could be made what good did police IN the schools do.
At one point there was supposedly almost 200 police there, milling around, listening to the shooter fire in the school.
Because if there are police there, there might not be enough dead children to exploit.
Once again, there were no police in the school that day. You claimed in the post I was responding to the police in the school didn’t help the other day.
There were police in Parkland and in Douglas High School. If memory serves they did nothing. If there had been a police officer in the school and he/she was as competent as the rest of the force appears to have been then there's no reason having them on site would have done anything.
What?! That’s nuts! Well then remove the Capital Police.
What you said was objectively not accurate.
Not sure what the point of you playing games is.
For all the good they do, they wouldn’t be missed. A shooter has a 50/50 chance the cop will cower like a little girl.
Thank you for the link. I just posted it on my Nextdoor site.
