Texas Department Public Safety spokesman Lt. Christopher Olivarez confirmed to a reporter during a live shot that police officers went into Robb Elementary School to get their own children during the massacre.
Amid outrage over reports that frantic families who complained about police inaction during the massacre were held back by police, a clip of a live interview with Olivarez from Tuesday has gone viral.

“Agree, they disobeyed orders. But I disagree with them being called cowards.”
He’s talking about the ones who stood by for an hour and did nothing. You don’t think they deserve to be called cowards?
OMG, this is terrible and the cops outside had a tazer at his side to use on those poor parents who wanted to get their kids out.
I suspect the police would make a convincing argument that they were doing their job by keeping distraught parents from getting themselves killed or possibly aggravating the shooter even more.
The problem is with school security and the police response timeline, not with crowd control.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Words do not fail me. They just cannot be posted on the open forum.
And sadly, that will never bring back the lives lost that the cops inaction is responsible for.
Suing does what?
It changes nothing.
Seriously, did you read his actual statement? He actually didn't say a word about gun control. He said:
“I met with Senator Cornyn this morning,” he told CNN. “As you know, he went home yesterday to see the family members and begin the factfinding of this awful massacre, and I have encouraged him to talk with Senator [Chris] Murphy and Senator [Kyrsten] Sinema and others who are interested in trying to get an outcome that is directly related to the problem. I am hopeful that we could come up with a bipartisan solution.”
Vanity Fair blasted him for that and said:
If you were just dropped on the planet today and didn’t know anything about the Senate minority leader, that would probably sound very encouraging, hopeful, and like the right thing to do. Unfortunately, for those of us who live on earth and have long been familiar with the Kentucky lawmaker, what it actually sounds like is a bunch of bullshit that will likely precede his doing absolutely nothing....
“I’m an old guy. I don’t have time to fight ya. I’m just gonna shoot ya.”
Jesus wept.
He we go again with the leftist style hysterics over a story that we know could very well change tomorrow.
“Regular Texans went to their trucks and got their deer rifles”
I guess a lot of people don’t want to become the next George Zimmerman, or the next McCloskeys, or the next Kyle Rittenhouse... prosecute enough citizens for being heroic and pretty soon you won’t be able to find any heroes when you need them.

The lack of response leads to the crowd control problem which kind of kills the “convincing argument.”
Why couldn’t they grab their kids, set them outside and tell them to run to the cops and then go back in?!!!
For my child I will play the coward.
They should have grabbed their own kids if they had to, thrown them out a window and told them to run to the cops and then go back in!
Never in a million years would I have imagined Texas cops cowering in fear as a teenager murders school children. I don't know how they can wake up and look at themselves in a mirror after this.
I agree. I repeat what I said earlier. Raise hell at the school boards. Parents are going to have to rise up. Tell these school boards that parents with experience with firearms are going to volunteer to patrol these schools. Get a concealed carry permit and sit across the street if they try to stop you.
We cannot go on with dead elementary school kids every time we turn around.
Action now!
Spineless craven cowards.
Burn in hell.
It just seems to be getting worse.
It's now being reported that there were seven cops INSIDE the school the whole time, doing nothing, waiting for a Border Patrol tactical team to arrive.
Also waiting for the rest of the story. The only ones who have a right to be less patient in venting their emotions are the loved ones of the victims. The rest of us can afford to wait for more accurate information. Rarely does anything claimed turn out to be exactly what we thought when first heard about.
Seems like a pretty solid source for this info and not someone likely to say something so negative about LEOs unless he was sure.
