Well, Russia could go back to their 1915 borders.
That is pre-2022 war

I will be honest with all of you- I have absolutely NO IDEA what's going on in this war. On one hand, I hear that the Ukrainians have driven the Russkies out. On the other hand, I hear the Russkies have consolidated their position, and are fully controlling Eastern Ukraine.

I'm suspicious of both sides. Putin is an old-school Soviet apparatchik. Some try to make him the next Hitler....I think he's the next Mussolini, in that he's trying to bring back a long-dead empire. Like Mussolini's Italian troops, today's Russians have no stomach for it.

Zelensky is just as bad. They're trying to make him the next Churchill. I tend to agree, if you remember that Churchill also devised the Gallipoli invasion, re-drew the Middle East on a napkin, and was brutal towards Indian Independence.

Until someone can convince me differently, my philosophy is "Not my circus, not my monkeys".

Russia has survived and even thrived in light of the massive sanctions, global inflation, food shortages, etc. Putin sees no reason to increase his war pressure to get what he wants. NATO and EU have played all their cards and failed.

Zelenskyy needs to shut up, he has been bought and paid for. Any decisions beyond what to eat for lunch is decided well above Churchill’s pay grade.

Has Zelensky taken a look around?? Russia has reduced the Donbas and the eastern border to rubble. Negotiate what?

This border war has been going on for 14 years. The people of Donbas have asked for a referendum.

Not a bad proposal even it the Russians may (and surely will) scoff at it.

It eliminates the complication of “territory gained” being held over Zelinskiyy’s head or used in a bullying way as a mere bargaining chip.

It give Putin a way to 1) graciously withdraw from a conflict that has clearly gone haywire and produced profuse military and political bleeding, and 2) demonstrate “reasonableness” in such a way as to quite possibly induce a complementary stance of good will on the part of Zelinskiyy and allow other world leaders to cease foolishly demanding war crimes trials and withdraw threats of placing Russia on a permanent footing of being a pariah or virtual among nation states.

Keep making demands like this as the Russian crocodile chews bits of your country off makes you look helplessly insane Mr. Z.

Z saying something so stupid means that the US has told him not to negotiate. Z’s bank account must be rising sharply.Uke losses in donbass have really picked up steam this week.

So you can keep pounding the Donbass with artillery? You had a chance to talk back then under those same conditions. Now Donetsk and Lugansk are gone and declared independence.
These clowns just don’t get it.

Z’s army in the East is being encircled and massacred.
Supply routes are becoming nonexistent.
Shelled by the advancing Russians along with tens of thousands of DPR troops, and shot by their own UKA commanders if they try to retreat or surrender.
Missiles are taking out military barracks and weapon storage sites in the west. One missile strike recently took out an estimated $400 million in weapons.

With any luck, Russia will decide when and where to stop and present terms.

The d*ck-swinging piano player is in no position to issue demands.

Russia is a nuclear power. A competent administration would be conducting back channel talks with Russia talking about the status of their tactical nukes; instead we’re daring Putin to use them. In his eyes, we’re leaving him no option. We are dancing at the brink of a nuclear war and no one is taking it seriously.

And once Russia has withdrawn, we can begin discussing how Russia is going to pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
