It does sound like they’ve been pretty good there. Getting the tree falls cleared is a plus. That’s a job that’s always good to get out of the way.
We had a large section of a tree break off beside one of the garages out back the other day and Hubby has that “fun” to look forward to. It’s a lot of tree to cut up and haul off.
No allergies? I’m SO jealous! LOL! I, too, love the fragrance of freshly-mowed grass but it sure is rough on the sinuses.
Yes, I’ll be at the museum this weekend. We only open Fridays and Saturdays. It’s been slow the last two weekends so the decision to open next Monday will be made Saturday afternoon. If we’re dead again, they won’t open.
If we don’t open, I’ll go to the Memorial Day ceremony in town Monday morning.
Howdy, EGC! ((hugs))
You did do good on the quiz! I hope you and Gizmo had a fun day at the lake today. It was very windy here and now is quite cool.
We’ve had higher humidity this week, and that’s sort of what gave me hope that maybe it would actually rain. But no such luck.
Enjoy those 80s. I’ll be totally jealous. LOL!
I should point out here that Gizmo has a habit of losing his smile when I take the iPhone out to get a picture of him. Apparently, he doesn't like to smile for the camera.
We did get some thunder and lightning with the rain yesterday but it wasn't very much. Its clearing out now. I gott get ready to do some mowing this weekend.
At least with a little more humidity, your plants had a little moisture to absorb through their leaves. Every little bit helps. I’d still love to pull up the radar and see a big blob of green over your area though. Yellow would be better because it would mean heavier rain. :-)
We’ll enjoy this week’s 80s because we’re talkin’ low 80s. Next week’s, we won’t enjoy so much.
But we’ll take ‘em over your 100s ANY day!
Glad you two had a good time. You were lucky you didn’t get hit like TX did. It’s been pretty rough down there, no doubt.
But yep, rain = mowing. LOL
Critters seem to be camera shy. They’ll be as cute as can be until they see the cameras come out. Our cats do the same thing.
But you’ve managed to catch Gizmo’s smile several times.
I’d love to see that too. In fact I really thought we would today, but. No.
I guess I’d better head out. See ya tomorrow!
When I came back to the States about 30 years ago I moved to a small town in upstate NY. I left in the first place because felt that I didn’t fit in any longer. The media has told the American people that the story about vets being spit upon is a myth. Well, I’m at least one who knows that’s not true. When the event was over I went before a Justice of the Peace (I had been arrested), and the fellow who spit in my face went to the hospital (when I got over the shock and went for him, he was actually “giving his speech”). I was LIVID! The JP heard the whole story and dismissed the case as self defense. After a few more years I just left...Very bitter, very angry.
Came back married with kids, and settled in that small town I mentioned. Joined the local volunteer fire dept, and rode a firetruck in my first Memorial Day Parade. I was stunned. I just drank it all in. Brought tears to my eyes that had nothing to do with remembering anyone. It had to do with what I was seeing right before me.
AMERICA! SMALL TOWN AMERICA! THE TRUE HEARTLAND! I HAD NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE! THIS WAS AMERICA! PROUD PATRIOTS. PEOPLE WHO KNEW EACH OTHER! HELPED EACH OTHER! CELEBRATED MEMORIAL DAY, THE FOURTH OF JULY, TAUGHT THEIR IMPORTANCE TO THEIR KIDS!GOOD FOLKS LIKE YOU, AND SO MANY OTHERS HERE AT FR, AND THE CANTEEN SPECIFICALLY...SO AFTER MORE THAN 20 YEARS AFTER THE WAR I FELT LIKE I FINALLY CAME HOME.
SO THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO, YOU, KATHY, LUVIE, ALL HERE, FOR ALL WHO SERVE, IN EVERY CAPACITY, PAST AND PRESENT.
G-D BLESS YOU ALL!
KEEP THE FAITH.
One of these days it’ll be there and we’ll both rejoice. :-)
With it being so cool, you should sleep well tonight.
Catch ya tomorrow.
I don’t think anyone believed the enemedia’s lies that it was a myth. They knew that was going on. It hurts to know you were one of those on the receiving end of that vile behavior. I admit I’m smiling right now knowing that jerk wound up in the hospital. Good for the JP for being a sensible man and making the right call on it.
It sounds like moving back to that small town was the right move to make. Nothing like Small Town, America. I moved away from here when I turned 18 and said I’d never come back. After 23 years of living in large cities, I wound up back here and now you couldn’t drag me away.
We don’t have a Memorial Day parade but they have a very nice ceremony each year.
Different groups do a lot of things to help our veterans when they have needs. Our vets are important to us, as they should be EVERYwhere.
It sounds like you found a nice town to call Home.
You’re more than welcome. My small part is nothing compared to those of you who have served or are serving now. It an honor and pleasure to do what I can.
And I thank you.
Ha! I don’t feel bad now.
I got 6 out of 13.
I hardly remember some of those shows much less their first name.
Good morning night owl ((HUGS))
Howdy beachy! Yep, you’re in good company with this quiz. I could barely remember their last names, much less their first. LOL! Good to see you.
9 out of 13!
Not too bad!
LOL
Hey there Sis! That’s a great score! Good to see you as usual. Enjoying retirement as much as I am? :)
