I identify as a former Marvel fan.... I read a lot of Marvel comics in the 60s and 70s. Haven't read any new ones since then. I don't think I've missed anything.

that’s unlikely given the reason he created mutants, like the X-Men, to begin with. LGBT-WTFE people would be viewed as todays black people of the 50s and 60s, or whatever. Mutants in Lee’s story lines were meant to be an allegory.
