A better idea would be to put the operator in jail as current law provides and sell the vehicle out of state on eBay. Problem solved.
They pull this crap in Chicago. Feral “youths” have used them to box in people driving legally to carjack, rob, assault, and even commit murder. Then they vanish and get away because the CPD has a no pursuit policy.
I think they should smash the vehicles AND the drivers.

We’ve got suburban ATV riders in the 8 and 9 yrs old category. Three of them on one buggy have been riding up my street in the dark.
Their parents must have a death wish for them.
In our town in SE Michigan it is golf carts. City and police have warned about kids driving which us only partially heeded. The golf cart people do not always follow traffic laws. (For that matter, at my corner, the cars do not stop for signs either) Someone is going to get whacked.
Well, they don’t incinerate the suspected rider, so that’s something.
This sounds lefty to me. Leftists blame guns for murders and want to eliminate the guns, not the person using them. They blame SUV’s for killing someone, not the driver.
In this case, the ATV is destroyed. This is so stupid. The ATV could be auctioned off and the monies could be used to prosecute the drivers. It would eliminate the suspect ATV and give the taxpayers a little relief at the same time.
Why not auction them off?

I wish the US Federal Govt would consider this and let the states and locals run much more of how the funds are spent.
Like just about everything else government has it's hands on, the bottom line is that they want to extort more fees and tax money from the population.
Our urban ‘dirt bike hoodlums’ used to be the skateboarders, for whom numerous laws were passed to combat them.
Now we are in the age of woke climatism and you must be wary of fast moving electric scooters/bikes and these asinine 2-cycle powered bikes.
I would LOVE it if our municipality would seize/crush them, but it will never happen (not referencing the scooters/bikes).

I don’t want any motorized vehicle on the road if they don’t meet the requirements i legally have to. Valid driver’s license, current insurance, registration, etc..
A fistful of tickets is usually all it takes in my county. Oh yeah, they do impound the machines. They can have them back when they pay the fines.
Other cities just douse the rider with gasoline and burn them alive.
Probably more effective than crushing their easily-replaceable ride.
I am originally from Reading. It is not a place usually associated with innovative law enforcement policies. However, I take my hat off to the city administration for having the guts to implement this simple and effective procedure. Unregistered motor scooters, motorcycles and four-wheelers are a real hazard in PA small and midsized cities. At least this policy of confiscation and destruction reduces the numbers and to some extent punishes the offenders.
ATVs, golfcarts, side x sides, tractors, go-carts, dirt bikes are all normal things to see on the roads here.
