Maybe that is what I heard. Its been a few years. He did a concert at a venue I was associated with and people there knew about him. I knew nothing—had never seen or heard of him before. Sorry for the confusion.
Blame the media for this. The media has been telling every “aggrieved” group - gay, “transgender”, minority, even women - that speech they don’t like is violence against them. Why should it surprise anyone that one of these nutjobs responds to speech “violence” with actual violence?

Chappelle lives in the leftist-hellhole of Yellow Springs, OH, which is about 10-15 miles to the east of Dayton.
About 5-6 years ago, my wife bumped into him while she was getting her hair cut at her beauty salon. She told me that he was a nice guy and acted like any other regular joe getting his hair cut.
