The University of New Orleans chemistry instructor, Algiers Point activist and former Louisiana statehouse candidate would grab old shutters and baseboards discarded after Hurricane Katrina, toss them in his truck and set about working over the grain, hour upon tedious hour.

Sounds fascinating. ‘Subscribers Only’ when I browsed over there.
Why put in an excerpt that takes subscribers only????

It's a great story of an average guy spending, by his own account, 1600 hours compiling proof of police timesheet fraud.
First time it wouldn’t let me. Second time it let me look. Some sites keep tabs on the number of times you visit and won’t let you read further without a subscription.

I can’t read it either because of the subscriber block but I grew up in Mississippi north of New Orleans and it’s corrupt from top to bottom. I have no doubt that most of the police are on the take in one way or another, just like almost every other official in the city. That place is third world level corruption.
The way the FBI is now, I’d expect them to negotiate a deal with the New Orleans police to let them off easy for something in return. It truly is a rogue criminal organization.
Not sure if this will get me banned, but I can’t have someone left out...
I also got “subscribers only.”
Bless you. I have been lost without outline.com.
I was able to scroll the dimmed out version under the pop-up window.
