Begun, the Eucharist Wars have
Exercising his authority as prelate of San Francisco, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone proclaimed that Nancy Pelosi’s support for unlimited abortion at all stages of gestation prevents her from legitimately receiving communion in the Catholic Church. Cordileone demanded that Pelosi repudiate and repent for “the grave evil she is perpetrating.”
Will she comply, or will Pelosi try to pick a fight at the altar?
Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s position on abortion has become only more extreme over the years, especially in the last few months. Just earlier this month she once again, as she has many times before, explicitly cited her Catholic faith while justifying abortion as a “choice,” this time setting herself in direct opposition to Pope Francis: “The very idea that they would be telling women the size, timing or whatever of their family, the personal nature of this is so appalling, and I say that as a devout Catholic”; “They say to me, ‘Nancy Pelosi thinks she knows more about having babies than the Pope.’ Yes I do. Are you stupid?”[4]

Wow! Did someone find their balls? Finally?
There's nothing new here, btw; high-profile public sinners have traditionally been required to do a public penance.
Do we even have evidence that she goes to church?
Wow someone in the church that “grew a pair.” Don’t worry the Communist Commissar in the Vatican will over rule this action...
The MSM will bury.
When I lived in Los Angeles, I attended St. Timothy Catholic Church and saw her there one Sunday. It was at least 10 years ago, and right after a big abortion bill was passed. She sat one pew in front of me over to the right. After mass she stood out in front like she ws going to greet people. I looked her in the eyes and walked past her without even acknowledging her. I do remember there was a CA State Trooper vehicle although she wasn’t the Speaker of the House at the time.
Holy crap you’re the only person to ever tell me they saw a politician at church.
She’ll have to have a committee investigate him for insurrection...
Took them long enough time!
Not odd at all:

Of course, she would’ve sponsored legislation like this ages ago, but their side wanted you to believe that doing so was meaningless. Now they have declared war.
In her mind there is nothing to confess.
“Holy crap you’re the only person to ever tell me they saw a politician at church.”

Congressman Ted Lieu is a member of our parish. The pastor says he has been there. Once. During an election campaign.
Good one.
It seems that maybe that Catholic Church is having a come to Jesus moment...
Great. Now do Biden.
Here’s a thought. Let’s say Biden dies. He will no doubt have a Catholic service. Come Communion time, Pelousy slithers up the aisle for Holy Communion. She gets up to the priest. What does he do?
It would be easy to do this if Nancy Pelosi were an abortion-loving marxist from a very conservative diocese, like Oklahoma City. But being from San Fransicko, the belly of the beast, has pretty much protested her until now. Cordileone has tried in vain numerous times to warn her to stop pretending to be a "good Catholic" while promoting evils directly contrary to Catholic teaching, and he finally called her bluff and pulled the trigger.
It took a lot of guts to do that (they will no doubt be demanding Cordileone's head on a platter in San Fransicko now), and it is, as Joe Biden would say "A Big F*cking Deal" as Pelosi is now effectively banned from receiving communion ANY time she attends church in her hometown. Worse for her, although this is not binding on any other cardinal or bishop, I DON'T expect the Archbishop of Washington D.C. to ignore it and instruct his priests to let her have communion anyway, as that would look bad publicly and imply "bad blood" between the American bishops and a schism within the USCCB hierarchy, so he will probably shrug his shoulders and go along with it -- even if he disagrees with the decision privately.
Biggest upset for me since the UK actually voted to leave the EU. Before the vote, I would assumed about 5% odds the "Brexit" crowd would actually prevail.
Biden's funeral would presumably be held in Washington D.C. (or maybe some kind of repose in Delaware), so the D.C. bishop would not be obligated to follow the decision of the Archbishop of San Francisco, who only has jurdisiction of over Catholic parishes in the California bay area.
But if he went along with Cordileone's recommendation anyway, the proper response would be to put the communion host back in the cup, give Pelosi a blessing, then move to the next person in line.
She can do vodka and Doritos and instead
