Investigating the SCOTUS leak: Here’s what needs to be done
The Hill, via MSN ^ | May 19, 2022 | Nicholas Peck and Thomas Feeney

Chief Justice John Roberts’s announcement of an investigation into the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade has led to speculation about the form such an investigation would take and how effective it is likely to be. Based on our many years of experience conducting such investigations we know they can be challenging and disruptive to any organization, much less an institution where collegiality and confidentiality are sacrosanct. There are ways, however, to get to the truth while respecting the court’s singular and delicate ecosystem.

Supreme Court Marshal Col. Gail A. Curley has been charged with investigating the leak, and she has an admirable and impressive record of service to our country. This investigation requires specialized technical knowledge and access to robust investigative tools that might not be readily available to her. Moreover, it’s unclear whether the Marshal or the Supreme Court Police would even have authority to conduct a criminal investigation of the leak, as federal law appears to authorize them to make arrests only as necessary to protect the Supreme Court building, grounds, and personnel.

They sure are slow walking this, shameful.

Simple, quick solution; Call in all of the clerks/aids that had access to the info and subject them to a lie detector test.

So when the decision is finally released will we get a #metoo insurrection led by barren women and lesbians? For sure these marches will be in liberal cities, in liberal states where the pro-abortion laws will be left in place. States like NY and California will be become abortion Meccas.

Interesting. Possible.

We’ll soon know if John Roberts indeed actually thought his decisions in Ocare and homosexual marriage were right, were “from his heart,” or if they had something on him, or, as a third alternative as some suggest, he is absolutely an “institutionalist” who believes in the sanctity of the Court and will fight for it. If the latter is true, you’ll see a real investigation. If either of the first two are true, this will fade away.

The Swamp gets what they want.

They love the Leaker like they loved the fake Ukraine whistleblower.

There will be no real Investigation.

Thomas should give Robert’s an ultimatum. Release the name in 1 week or Publically challenge his ethics and leadership.

The first point to remember is that leaking a draft Supreme Court document isn't a crime -- unless it was stolen by someone who wasn't authorized to have access to it.

That's why the Supreme Court Marshal, and not the FBI (or any other executive branch agency), is overseeing the investigation.

The ramifications of this incident will only be felt within the Supreme Court. Frankly, I would be fine if U.S. Supreme Court justices got to the point where they didn't trust anyone. It would make for better government and legal jurisprudence, in my humble opinion.

Correct. They knew who “leaked “ it before it was “leaked”. Whoever “leaked” it was just following orders. They could have told when it was going to be “leaked” and what was going to be “leaked” in January 2022. We are being ruled by evil , corrupt, and degenerate individuals. But that is what the American People want.

LOL the DOJ is not even doing this!!!

Ask all the clerks and other who would have had access to the decision. If no one fesses up then then replace them all.

IMHO the reason for the leak was the draft had been passed around and it became impossible to persuade any of the originalist justices to change his/her opinion. Hence, intimidation via the leak was the last alternative. Remember, the three Trump appointees were successfully intimidated by the threat of riots into refusing to accept the 2020 Texas election challenge.
