More than 230 consumer, environmental and public interest groups urged the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the electric utility industry for widespread abuses. These include bribery, fake dark-money campaigns and denying customers access to renewable energy.…

That survivor website has at least one error: it’s not illegal to disconnect power in Alabama. Of course, that’s impractical anyway in most situations.

Seems like today’s greenies mostly learned this green stuff from our own hippies over the decades and now scientists worldwide who claim the climate is changing. Putin must be one powerful dude if he’s influenced many millions of people since the 1960s.

I’m thinking you could disconnect power simply by removing every fuse in your fuse box. Then unless you have some kind of monthly service charge, your electric bill would be zero.

And then evidently off to jail you go if you live in Arizona.

denying customers access to renewable energy.

/\

Perpetual Motion machines aren’t real you morons.

Your zero carbon renewable energy bait and switch is nothing more than a hospice plan for assisted suicide of 95% of the erfs population.

We ain’t interested in your infantile ignorant rainbow unicorn utopia wrapped suicide.

Solar/wind Electricity doesn’t produce fertalizer to feed the world

Natural gas and oil production does.

Lithium is mined and produced by fossil fuels.

You morons can’t plug your power strip plug into itself and expect anything but a cold dark starving slow death.

Or is that what you REALLY want.

The Joek's best bet would be to open the energy spigots and knock the base out from under Russia's energy bonanza.

But the Dumbocrat puppeteers are too stoooopid to do that.

I will suggest that any environmental group be exterminated for the good of the country to reduce carbon emissions

Fixed it. That will go further with Democrats.

I would say to support after term abortions. But I don't want to encourage that.

In places where it’s legal to be off the grid, like Wyoming (I believe), you are better off when you start out never being hooked up. Here, they will be happy to “disconnect” you if you don’t pay your bill in 60 days, but they just turn off your meter. If you ask to be disconnected, they leave the line and the meter, and I don’t believe they will remove it even on request. If storm damage happens to the external lines on your property but not on the street, they will charge you to repair them, but they still will not remove them.

Lease a passel of land in the middle of nowhere and think they are entitled to have someone build them free transmission lines.

In Alabama the power bill would still be $15 to $16 even with no usage.

How long before we are required to install solar panels on our houses? That’s the next step.

Must be why they lost 8 billion dollars last year huh.

Congress asked them how much money they made this year answer 1 billion.
Supply and demand have everything to do with it why do you think Biden shut down the pipe lines and refused oil drilling leases permits are useless without them.

~~~
That’s what scares the utility companies to death, which is why they lobby so hard to make it illegal to disconnect. If everyone had autonomous solar power with their own power storage, the electric power generating and delivery utilities would be virtually out of business. BUT, if everyone had to have solar power but were forced to return it to the grid, they can control the rates they charge for delivery and the rates they give for return power, and more importantly, they can justify the existence for charging EVERYONE for grid maintenance.
” These include bribery, fake dark-money campaigns and denying customers access to renewable energy.”
It’s exactly the opposite. Solyndra anybody? We have an idiot government FORCING unreliable non renewable “Green” energy. We have idiot government FORCING us to turn out food crops in to inefficient fuel. And ADM, GE, Vestas, and every other “green” company giving billions, if not trillions world wide, to the the marxist idiot government to force more of it, give them subsidies, and mandate the use of things which do not work.
I guess they’ll have to start cutting down forests in New England and burning the wood to keep from freezing in the winter.
Bad idea. Burning that wood would release lots of carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas!) into the air. That would result in lots more food for plants causing more plant growth and more forest growth....
Ummm, never mind. You should just freeze to death in the winter. It's for Mother Earth!
The left doesn't want us all to have our own solar power in any meaningful way beyond token systems (i.e. a small 3kW system). They want ways to control us, particularly through costs like energy inflation. If they're able to make or convince everyone to switch to EV's they'll make power rates skyrocket like they do gasoline.
I'm in the process of upgrading my 10kW / 30kWh system to 21kW / 90kWh and getting an EV. Even with that I won't be 100% off-grid. I'll be only about 90% self-sufficient. Now it's a good system as far as paying for itself 9 years from now (10th year from when I installed the original system). It's also good as far as making my budget not have to worry about the power bill, natural gas bill, and price at the pump vary a lot -- I have a fixed cost of paying the HELOC payment on the HELCO I took out to buy it all.
But even with that large system I still won't be 100% energy independent. Trying to make myself 100% independent would be running against the law of diminishing returns. So there would always be a need for power companies. I just want the government cronies (which include the utility companies) to have less control over our lives.
The electric utility industry has blocked the dilithium crystals, hopium, and unobtainium needed for clean, abundant, and free energy.
The most efficient way of accomplishing that is to wrap their heads in plastic wrap.
