Is Biden's 'Success' Our Mess?
Townhall.com ^ | May 19, 2022 | Victor Davis Hanson

If an administration deliberately wished to cause havoc on the border, to ensure fuel was nearly unaffordable, to create a crime wave, to spark 1970s hyperinflation, and to rekindle racial tensions, what would it have done differently than what President Joe Biden has done?

So is Biden malicious, incompetent, or a wannabe left-wing ideologue?

When pressed about inflation and fuel price hikes, Biden either blames someone or something else, gets mad at the questioner, or claims former President Donald Trump did it.

His administration apparently believes things are going well and according to plan.

When polls disagree, his team either believes the American people are brainwashed or that they themselves have not supplied sufficient propaganda. So they never pivot or compromise, but rededicate themselves to continued failure.

Why? Apparently, what most in the country see as disasters, Biden envisions as success.

Take the border - or rather its disappearance.

Never in U.S. history has an administration simply canceled immigration laws, opened the border, and welcomed in millions of illegal aliens. All arrive illegally, and without audit, or vaccinations and tests in times of a pandemic.

Cartels now import lethal drugs at will into the United States. We have no idea how many terrorists walk across the border each day.

Almost all the entering millions who break the law are poor, without high school diplomas or English skills, and in dire need of massive federal and state housing, food, education, legal, and health subsidies.

The challenge the Democrats have this coming November does not come from the Republicans, but from their biggest enemy, common sense. During good times, the public has a tendency to abandon it by forgetting the past and vote them into office. But, during bad times, like we are coming into brought on by their momentary lapse in judgement, they bitterly cling to it and unload their mistake...until the next time they are feeling secure enough to abandon it again.

“His administration apparently believes things are going well and according to plan.”

Things are going well, according to “plan”, for the leftists, communists, socialists, marxists, anarchists, demonKKKrats etc.

Deep State has a choice to make.

Do they settle for a four-year year loot-and-run on the public treasury, or do they try to stick around permanently.

If they opt for the former, then my bet is the plan is to leave a smoking hulk of an economic wreck for whomever comes after BiteMe.

If they decide on the latter...

Then we’ve got a decision to make.

Yep.

From the article: "going well and according to plan..."

Things are going well ....... according to the anti American globalists behind the scenes. And, most decisively, are going according to plan.

Covid was an orchestrated plot to usurp the will of the people in stealing an election. Everything is going to plan.

This plan to flood the USA with illegal aliens has been going on for 30 years and is completely bipartisan.

Getting the flow of illegal aliens going again is why both parties colluded to cheat Trump out.

They want to complete the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).

I have been asking this question about Government for years.
The Federal Government is only allowed to do 17 things as mandated by the Constitution.
All else is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

Brandon’s plan is to consolidate power over a broken America. We need to stop attributing it to incompetence or senility. A retarded chimp couldn’t do the harm he has a inflicted.

“..A retarded chimp couldn’t do the harm he has a inflicted....”

I fail to see the difference between a retarded chimp and this godless, demented, moronic POS.
Now, thinking about it; a demented chimp actually might cause less harm to the country than odongo’s meat puppet.

None of this is by chance. None of it.

There is a maxim called Hanlon's Razor which states: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I have always thought that was a sound maxim to keep in mind. But it must be employed and weighed carefully when using in context with Democrats (and The Republicans who assist them) and the well-being of America.

BARACK OBAMA (2008 INTERVIEW):
"Well, I think that we have been slow to move in a better direction when it comes to energy usage. And the president, frankly, hasn’t had an energy policy. And as a consequence, we’ve been consuming energy as if it’s infinite. We now know that our demand is badly outstripping supply with China and India growing as rapidly as they are. If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them...under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket...I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps right now to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money into their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more quickly, particularly US automakers, then I think ultimately, we can come out of this stronger and have a more efficient energy policy than we do right now..."

OBAMA ENERGY SECRETARY STEVEN CHU (SEPTEMBER 2008 INTERVIEW):
"Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe..."

Alone, those would be pretty damning, being their own words to describe exactly their end goal, but that is all just harmless rhetoric, right?

Sure. Just rhetoric.

But if you take a look at what they are actively RIGHT NOW trying to do, even in this time where gasoline prices are certain to destroy our economy based on actions by the Left that include Biden cancelling the Keystone Pipeline on his first day in office and last week, cancelling all sales of leases for oil and gas in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.

Here is what Democrats are ACTIVELY pursing RIGHT NOW with catastrophe staring us in the face due to high energy costs:

LINK: If Democrats have their way, gas prices will surge even higher

  1. Windfalls Profit Tax: $450 billion tax increase

  2. Home Heating Tax: $8 billion tax increase

  3. Energy Tax on Crude Oil: $13 billion tax increase

  4. Repeal expensing of intangible drilling costs (IDCs): $10.5 billion tax increase

  5. Modify foreign oil and gas extraction income and foreign oil related income rules: $84.8 billion tax increase

  6. Repeal enhanced oil recovery credit: $7.8 billion tax increase

  7. Repeal credit for oil and natural gas produced from marginal wells: $516 million tax increase

  8. Repeal capital gains tax treatment for royalties: $455 million tax increase

  9. Repeal exception to passive loss limitations provided to working interests in oil and natural gas properties (Biden’s budget proposal): $86 million tax increase

  10. Repeal percentage depletion with respect to oil and natural gas wells: $9.2 billion tax increase

  11. Increase geological and geophysical amortization period for independent producers: $2 billion tax increase

  12. Repeal expensing of exploration and development costs: $911 million tax increase

  13. Repeal percentage depletion for hard mineral fossil fuels: $1.3 billion tax increase

  14. Repeal the exemption from the corporate income tax for fossil fuel publicly traded partnerships: $1 billion tax increase

  15. Repeal the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund (OSTLF) excise tax exemption for crude oil derived from bitumen and kerogen-rich rock: $395 million tax increase

  16. Reinstate Superfund excise taxes: $25 billion tax increase

  17. Modify Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund financing: $513 million tax increase

Does this seem like incompetence to anyone? Anyone? If you were trying to drive up the cost of energy, whould you do ANYTHING differently than these items, all being pushed by Democrats?

We have to find a way to make voters understand this is not nature, it is not accident, it is not happenstance, it is not Putin, it is not any kind of natural disaster, it is not the Greed of Big Oil.

"Hanlon's Razor" should be changed to read, when considering the actions of Democrats and the well-being of America: "Never attribute to incompetence that which is adequately explained by malice."

IT IS THE DELIBERATE AND FOCUSED ACTIONS OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY THAT IS CHOKING ALL OF US AND WILL DESTROY OUR ECONOMY, OUR LIVELIHOODS, AND OUR COUNTRY.

To alter a society and country you must first bring it down to it’s lowest point as we are seeing it in action.

Boy, is that ever the truth. Stalin was one evil SOB, and today’s Democrats are worthy heirs to his ideology.

If they had their way, they would no doubt starve and imprison us just as Stalin did the Kulaks, because we refuse to go along with this modern form of Climate Collectivism.

Hah! Love it...:)

Thank you for the suggestion, though I would be willing to bet money I was not the first person who had that occur to me.

Senator Joseph McCarthy once had a book ghostwritten called "America's Retreat From Victory" in which the subject is the acquiescence of American Foreign Policy to the wishes and demands of the Soviet Union during WWII and the few short years after.

Rightly or wrongly, Senator McCarthy accused General Marshall as being a driver of this approach. He may indeed have been mistaken in this accusation, but one of his justifications certainly rang true then, as it would today in evaluating many issues including energy policy, economic policy, and voter fraud. A quote from his book:

In the effort to determine if our soft and accommodating national approach to the Soviets during and after WWII was due to misfeasance (stupidity, incompetence, or ignorance) or malfeasance (deliberate actions taken to help the Soviets and hurt the West) McCarthy wrote:

"If Marshall were merely stupid, the laws of probability would have dictated that at least some of his decisions [regarding the Soviets] would have served this country's interest. Even if Marshall had been innocent of guilty intention, how could he have been entrusted to guide this country further? [through his mid-war and post-war policies regarding the Soviets, China, and the subsequent Soviet domination of millions of people in what came to be "The Eastern Bloc"]
